  1. I once saw a tank on Craigslist that was 4000 gallons if I remember right??? It was used in trade shows to show off bass fishing lures. It came with a four axle trailer and if I remember right it was something like 20 feet long!!! My wife shot that down though. :(
  2. How are you liking the MP40s ??? P.S. that looks like one happy blue tang!!!
  3. I was thinking the exact same thing, LOL.
  4. I'm sure he knows he doesn't "need" this stuff, but if its what he "wants" then he should get it. I have noticed this hobby has many facets, some people really like the fish, others are all about coral and some people are really into equipment.
  5. And your tank size True, some people like to have the best though. I have seen a ton of sweet set ups on Nano reef that would cost a fortune if you scaled them up but because of the size they were able to buy all the best equipment and corals. Most of these setups I could look at for hours even if they were empty LOL.
  6. I felt the same way. After going to Dave's I'm set on getting one eventually. I had never noticed the way their heads have blue until I saw them at the close house. For now though I'm showing my PNWMAS pride with a pair of full bars, one regular one B&W.
  7. If you really feel like you need all that stuff you probably should downgrade. Plus you would have an envision. (drooler) I'm guessing if you had a 50 gallon you would only need Mp 10s ??? And one light??? That would cut your cost in half.

    Hypo

I just checked my build thread and I posted about putting the fish in hypo 7-21. So that's only 2 months; it feels like its been a lot longer than that though. :(

    Hypo

Ya I had to move all my corals into a QT. I've been waiting for that last spot for soooo long :( Everytime I see no spots a week or two later one more shows up. I was supposed to drop it to 1.009 so I guess that's why it's not working. To be clear it is mostly working just not getting that last spot. I feel like if my blue wasn't so stressed all the time he would be able to fight it off. :(

    Hypo

If anyone has a nice setup and wants a reef safe angle let me know, I just want her to have a good home. Obviously you would probably want to QT her.

    Hypo

So I have had my DT in hypo for a long while now :( I still see one spot on my blue tang!!!! I have the SG at 1.010 and I guess I need to drop it more, at least 1.009. My question is simply who else has used/is using hypo and what was your experience and how low did you go and how long did it take? I really wish I could re-home my black spot angle since her prescience is really stressing out the tang, however I can't do this with out raising the salinity back to normal which will take at a minimum 6 days.
  12. I toy win the same idea often (I have a 125) I think there are definite downsides though. With a smaller tank you will have to be more on top of water changes ext. Secondly you won't be able to keep tangs or other larger fish. The way I have my tank setup is basically half fish only half reef, I don't even have one side fully lit. I did this because its basically all I can afford, It is kinda nice though because I can keep coral on one side the fish have space to swim and I don't have huge swings in water chemistry temp ext. A big tank can be done on a budget it just won't be all it could be.
  13. Let the man spend his money shame free, at least he's not at a casino. Anyways back to the buying and selling of frags, at least I think there's some left... LOL
  14. When I first got my six line (don't have him anymore) the very first thing he did when introduced to the tank was to pull a big bristle worm right out of the sand and eat it whole!!!! I didn't really see him go after them after that though... My thinking is that when they are hungry they go after the worms but when well fed they don't bother, just a guess.
  15. I don't know of any glass builders but James at Envision makes sweet acrylic tanks and he is local. P.S. I'm not sure "sweet" really gets across the point I was trying to make. How about AMAZING!!!! SPECTACULAR!!!! or maybe just "works of art".
  16. WOW!!! I hadn't heard of "SM" that is not cool at all. It is so hard to tell from pics sometimes so its nice to be able to google a name and know what your looking at. I really feel like if you don't know what you have then you probably dont have anything. I can buy a $40 rock of sweet wild zoas with at least a hundred heads. It's the really special stuff that is worth selling PP. I'm not talking about you OP because it sounds like you got some nice stuff from your friend, my advice to you is to ask him/her what they sold you. Sorry for my rant I just see so many people try to give names to this that really don't belong in anyone's collection.
  17. Looks like your ready for the Zombie Apocolypse
  18. You know the rules... LOL. (laugh)
  19. ZOOBOMB!!! Although I haven't made it up their in a while.
