  1. That Eel is lucky you came along. I wish him a speedy recovery. P.S. good call on not buying him, it would only have encouraged them. :(
  2. Congrats!!! Babies are the best.

    Budget

    I think I'm at $200 a year. LOL.
  4. WOW!!! That is unbelievable!!! If you have another meeting there is no way I will miss it.
  5. Clowns will do this weird submissive dance to one another; looks like they are having a seizure. They also will swim at the surface when sleeping in some cases. Basically their behavior in any other fish would be a bad sign. They really are funny fish, guess that's why they are called clowns???
  6. The larger red ones that have a green mouth look like Red People Eaters to me. I can't tell the difference between Australian and Hawaiian RPEs though, for this reason I really don't suggest you sell them as such with out proper lineage. It also looks like you have some dragon eyes (green skirt red center) it is very hard to tell dragons eyes apart from watermelons though so once again I would refrain from selling them as "x". You also have what looks like Green Bay Packers however I have seen many wild colonies that look identical. I think I see a "armor of god" "everlasting gobstopper" "armegedon" not sure which of the three you have they all look the same to me... I know this isn't any help, maybe just let the pictures speak for them self????
  7. Happy Birthday Steve!!!!
  8. I'm really not trying to insult either of your tanks, I just find both of your comments a little odd???
  9. I have noticed it too. LOL. I know I should just ignore it but its getting old.
  10. Yup that's my "softie" tank. If only my tank could look like yours. LOL. (laugh)
  11. Pic of your tank: Pic of my tank (not current) : Clearly you have a vast wealth of knowledge I do not posses. LOL. (laugh)
  12. ^^^^ my tank is in hypo I said so in this thread. LOL
  13. I think you would fit in perfectly on reef central. LOL. (laugh)
  14. Did you kill a bunch of fish too??? My sig is a quote from MVP aquatics
  15. WRONG. You lost your fish due to your own shortcomings. Had you maintained healthy and happy fish there is no reason for you to have lost a "handful" of them. I will concede that some strains of ick are possibly stronger than others causing the discrepancy in individuals experience however in your case the most logical explanation seems to be inexperience. I find it amusing that you argue what you have read against what others have experienced first hand, do you really think we haven't read the same articles???
  16. That is a good idea with the fan. won't work in my 125 though LOL. It is amazing how little salt it take for hypo isn't it!?!? I put as much salt into a 20 Brutte trash can as I usually put into a 5 gallon bucket!!!!
  17. Sounds like you made the right choice to me. I always say that ick can be deadly but so can a quickly thrown together QT. I'm really curious about the process of taking the fish out of hypo, how many days did it take? Or did you not drop the SG?
  18. Mine have a pretty visiouse sting. They touch pretty much anything and it dies; only exception is my blue ridge which is aparantly immune.
  19. That is awesome!!!!!! I think my flame is going to a new home. (plotting)
  20. WOW you are on top of things. Sounds like a spot of bad luck, keep up the good work and I'm sure you will have a thriving reef before you know it.
  21. Sounds like it may just be the fish; sadly some fish just won't make it. :( You may want to have your water tested with a refractometer, I know I killed my first saltwater fish because my hydrometer was faulty. :( On a side note IME clowns dont pair well when they are the same size; it is better IMO to get one and then when she grows larger you can get her a boyfriend.
