  1. HA..Thanks...I kinda think the pics make the tank look nicer than it is..lol, My wife is going to go to Eugene for her brothers UofO Graduation...I have to work on Monday, so I am staying home..She is going with her family.
  2. Well, I got a wild hare up my:eek: and thought I would snap some new pics, mostly to document where my tank is as of now, so I can look back in the future and either cry at how beautiful it was....lol, or be suprised at how much things have grown...Please forgive any Newb(Noob) mistakes you may see...I really don't know what I am doing...(nutty) Anyway, thought I would share a few pics..ok alot of pics.. Full tank shot... Tyree Green Toadstool Pagoda Cup Coral Green Frog Spawn Closeup Pink/Peach/Orange Frogspawn Hammer Coral Closeup Start of the zoanthid garden area Frilly/Hairy Mushrooms Green Ricordia Uknown Mushroom (Striped Watermelon?) 4. Awsome, Thank you for pickup up the ball and running with it, I thought I was going to miss out on my first PNWMAS meeting...(clap) Do you need a list of people comming? You can count me and my wife in...
  5. Thanks, I will forward him a link to this thread, He said he was going to try this stuff called Salifert Flatworm Exit? I have never used it so I couldn't tell him go/no go on that stuff... Has anyone used that before? I think he just has a Sixline Wrasse right now, if he got a Melanarus wrasse or Leopard wrasses he is going to have to get rid of the Sixline right?
  6. A friend of mine back east and I where talking about Zoanthids, and he said that he bought a chunck of cool looking zoanthids a while back, and after about a month ord so, he started noticing these little Nudibranches, and told me to google "Zoanthid Eating Nudibranch"..so I did, I was wondering if anyone had ever experienced these before? He said he is starting to notice more and more of them, and some of his Zoanthids are staying closed, I wasn't sure what to tell him, and said I would post it on here as there was some Zoanthids keepers at my local society. Anyone have any advice for what you can do for these "Zoanthid Eating Nudibranches" He said he is just tweezering them out when he sees them.....(scratch)
  7. We will take a frag of the Raptors/Spartan Pride for $5...
  8. Looks Awsome! I personally like the dark black sand, once you put some bright corals in there they will POP! against the darker substrate and rock. Thats a pretty cool Pico for sure! Keep us posted as you start adding things to it, I can't wait to see what it looks like when its filled up:D
  9. I know where you can get some... http://www.wetspottropicalfish.com/ They have this sand called "Tahitian Moon"...it is REALLY nice sand..and I think they do sell it by the pound there..its black black... I used it for our 40g, but made the mistake of buying the sand in a bag stuff (The "Live Sand"), which is not black/black...and mixed it with the Tahitian Moon Sand and it now doesn't look as good, I wish I would have just had the Tahitian Moon Black Sand...it would have looked REALLY nice...
  10. I can bring a couple of BIG frags of Pulsating Xenia if anyone is interested...let me know:D I also have two large peices of live rock that are almost completely covered in Green Star Polyps, I paid $4.50/lb for it, and would love to trade someone who has simular sized plain live rock, So if your interesed let me know, I would like to free up some realestate in my tank, these are larger rocks, I would say 8-9 inches and 2-4 lbsish...I can get pics this evening for those interested.... Its a fast grower, and has the longer feathery polyps, it provides great movement and under high K bulbs or actinic it just GLOWs green.
  11. That would be a cool idea, I just have some big chunks of Xenia ready at the moment though, but I would be down with "Sharing the Love Potluck" Style...
  12. I am not sure where to post this, but I was curious if there was a thread about weither or not people are going to be bringing any frags to the next meeting here next weekend? It would be kinda cool to see what anyone is offering or bringing, I know its been a while since I added anything new to my tank....just curious if anyone is bringing anything I might "need"(whistle)....lol This will also be our first meeting that we have ever attended, so we are excited..(clap)
  13. Major Congrats! That was exciting...(scary) I was counting the seconds before I hit the submit button too(scary)....LOL, Good Times:D
  14. Congrats! That was lots of fun even though I didnt win(clap) Big thanks to CA2OR for doing this...Congrats you guys!
  15. Share the Love Noob.....(sad) A day late and a Share the Love short...lol(sad) Congrats to those who won...those are some nice new additions! Kudos to Noob for putting them up...(clap)
  16. I would donate to your gas fund, I will PM you to figure out how to do it...I will see if he can hold them for me till you pick them up, if I prepaid them.
  17. I would love to get some Bam Bam Orange Zoas from him....But its only $35 to have it shipped and delivered to me, You could gather a bunch of people together that want something and if we got a big enought order the shipping would be Free possibly...Like a group buy..?
  18. Welcome, I am new here too, and your story sound just like mine, both my wife and I kept freshwater tanks for many years, and always thought about doing a reef tank but never did, We did have saltwater, but it was a fish only, and after many years we finally chose to go Reef, and its been such an amazing experience, I am kicking myself for not going reef many years ago...I can only imagine where I would be now if I had..lol There are so many great shops in the Portland Area, and this forum has been so great with all the local experienced reefers, its really a great hobby. I have had more fun in the short little while I have been keeping a reef tank than I have in the many years of keeping freshwater...At least for me. It can be a little over whelming at first, but once you get the equipment, and get over the shock of the price, it quickly becomes all fun from there...but this forum and the local shops you should have no problem finding great equipment for a good deal, I wish I would have found this place before I started my tank...I could have gone bigger and better for half the price..DOH!
  19. Thanks for the reply, Thats interesting to know, We have very limited expereince fragging, but just thought it was weird that my big Golden ToadStool did not have the little fingers at the ends, and the frags we have take from the cap also do not, but the "babie" it left from the stalk, does:eek: We have never fragged ours from the stalk before, just the cap...so..(scratch) Interesting, thanks for the reply, Have you ever seen any ToadStool Leathers that don't have those "little fingers"...Would it make scense that your "Mother" Toadstool was fragged from a stalk...? Maybe I am confusing myself...lol(nutty)
