  1. So I got these paly's that came on a frag of Platygyra, there was only like 2 little polyps on the frag disk, Well the disk was pushed off its spot by probably a snail, and fell into my frogspawn, and pretty much killed the Platygyra, but the little paly's where not fazed at all, so I popped off the dead platygyra and left the paly's on there, well, they have now exploded and seem to be doing really well. I keep seeing people post pics of somewhat simular paly's and everyone mentions that they are kinda bad, that they overtake the tank easily... The closest thing I have ever found to what they look like is the "Dr.Mac's/Pacific East Aquaculture" "Seafoam Palythoa".....But they no longer have them on thier website...So my question is, is this the "Bad" type? I saw someone mention that they are just a step up from Aptasia.....lol, But they are SOOoo much prettier than Aptasia...lol, They are a really beautiful Blue/green coloration...Are these ones good or bad?
  2. Put me down for a Frag...I like it...
  3. Very nice Pictures, I remember how nice your pics where but they where of Green Tree's...lol Great to see you posting here!...
  4. Is this the same Brie that is "Kestrel" on MP.com? If so...what a small world, I didn't know you where into Reef Tanks too:D
  5. I am interested in a $15 frag of the Green Birds Nest, but don't know when the next time I will be down to Portland...PM Sent..
  6. Awsome, Great setups...I was curious in this tank below, what the coral was that was just to the right of the center of the tank, that looks to be cupping/plating? That is a really cool piece...
  7. It depends on what kind of Carpet Anemone it is, Haddoni's prefer a nice thick layer of sand to bury thier foot in...at least that is what everyone says, and that has also been my experience. Mine Has never left the sand...I have never heard of anyone putting one in a Bare Bottom Tank before... Man that is such a cool Anemone...I so wish I had another tank set up, I so would get that beauty...
  8. WOW!! If I didn't already have a Haddon's I would be SOOOo all over that Red:eek: That is an Awsome price for a red! They are one of the hardest to find and seem pretty rare...Man, I would almost setup another tank for that carpet(scary)

    Montipora?

I don't know if this is laughable or not, but I think its cool...I bought some Zoanthids from one of the local Portland Shops, and I guess when they scooped up the frag plug there was a loose little chunck of Pink birds nest that was accidently scooped up with the plug, when I got home I noticed this little chuck in the bag with the Zoanthids...it wasn't attached to anything...I could see the polyps on it so I knew it was alive, I felt I probably didn't have the right setup for SPS, but I just didn't have the heart to throw it away, so I figured I would give it a shot... Here is the little chunck about 3 months ago or so... I will try and get a better pic of it, but you can see the same peice (I actually moved it quickly away from the Zoanthids)...here is what it looks like today, To me it has grown quite a bit...I was actually really suprised...I don't know how fast SPS corals grow....and figured they would take a VERY long time to notice any growth, I am guessing this is a pretty hardy SPS and a fast grower.....but its been really cool watching it grow...Its still alive and seems to be doing well...so I guess my tank is not too bad of a setup...(scratch) You can see it in the upper right...how much it has grown..I will try and get some better pics of it... So...from what I have read, the SPS I have are some of the easiest and best for beginer SPS people like me...I hope the new Montipora? I got do well for me like this birds nest has...I don't think I could ever do just SPS though, I like everything else too much...lol, like the Soft corals and LPS's...

    Montipora?

Thanks, So on "A" in 1-3 months what would I be looking for to confirm its a M. Capricornis? Are they fast growers? Thanks for the reply, They seem to be growing out, not really encrusting...they are just slightly different colors, but I was guessing that could be due to different lighting/water chemistry/ect...But piece "A" has actual polyps that I can see, where piece "B" has none that I can see...They are from two different sources...I just saw them and thought I would give them a try... I am not a huge SPS guy, and frankly thought I probably wouldn't be able to keep them, but I do have a Pink birds nest frag that I found in a bad of zoanthids that was still alive, and I just couldn't through it away, so I glued it to a rock, and its grown quite a bit, so it seems I can at least keep them alive...So I thought I would give these a try...
  12. There is always the next meeting:D I would love to take a road trip down that way sometime, Thanks again for everything, I really had a great time..
  13. Sure...I would love to trade....(clap) I am going to try and get some pics of the Bam Bams, They look absolutley amazing...I am so geeked about them..
  14. No, Thank you, I will now have new "Real Estate"...and I love the peices you gave me, they will work perfectly. Glad to hear they aclimated well for you, when I first got them, it took a few days for them to come out...but once they did, and under actinics they just GLOW...I really like them, they just grow and spread really fast though...

    Montipora?

Ok...so please forgive me for my ignorance, I tried searching on the web to find a ID for these...and thought I would post them on here and see what you guys thought. I was told one was a Montipora Capricornis...Which I believe, the other I was told was the same thing, but it does look a little different...I know these are HORRIBLE pics, but would love to hear some opinions...if you think they are both Montipora Capricornis, just different variations of the same thing, or if they are different from each other... This one has actual polyps that are visiable to the naked eye...I will call this one "A"... This one has no polyps visable that I can see...And I will call this one "B"... Are they both the same thing? Or are they different? and if they are different what do you think they are?
  16. I have no idea what this one is, but I like it...The orange center is much brighter orange in person, then its Green and a ring of Blue around the green and a brighter green skirt...
  17. ABSOLUTLEY NOT! NO WAY!!!(threaten) I TOTALLY feel your pain, I live in a small town, and EVERY neighbor I have is elderly and retired, they do nothing but sit at home and stew about things to complain about... YOU where there first, if he has dogs that bark...guess what, he can join the barking dog club...I deal with the same thing, My neighbor came over and asked if we could quite our dogs down, at 3pm on a saturday...I replied very nicely..."Sure, My dogs will stop barking as soon as yours dose..no problem"...lol Don't let this new guy bully you into giving up your pup, he is the new guy on the block, and some people like to push and test how much control they can have in thier new surroundings...if he doesn't like you or your dog...guess what...HE CAN MOVE!(threaten) Your not doing anything illegal, and if he calls animal control (if you have that where you live) you can explain to them that his dog barks too...you can't have your cake and eat it too...(enforcer) I hate neighbors...Wish I lived on 20 acres...with my house right in the middle of it...lol

  19. Should we bring name tags? I am totally new to the society, and don't know anyone, and have made arrangements to meet a few people for frags, I am hoping we have some kind of intro for everyone...like "Forum Name" and "Real Name"...it would feel wierd calling someone by thier "Forum Name" in person...lol I don't know if that is part of the meeting or not...

  21. I think it was the Bellagio...(scratch) I got so confused where I was most of the time..lol Its this one..it was something like 12 or 15,000 gallons... I liked the one at Ceasars too...My friends where like check out the animatronic pyrotecnic play thing that goes on there, and I was more fascinated with the tank and the fish...lol
