  1. There's an idea, WTB? What to bring threadDOH!???
  2. Undertkr, that torch is really cool. And scuito, thanks for that friendly offer, but I have nothing to trade you that you would want! I have 3 heads of trumpet, one head of dendro, and 3 heads of acans. I'm just getting going on stocking, very slowly(whistle)
  3. Thank you for all of the wonderful input!! My clowns are tank raised and bred occ. clowns. So they might never want to host anything!! But i think I will go with the torch according to what you all have told me. There's only one lfs near me that is an athentic reef store(unlike petco), and they rarely have torch in stock. And I don't like ordering corals online because you can't see them before you buy them. But divers den is good, I'll keep an eye on their stuff.
  4. Thanks scuito for the nice comment. Yours is beautiful. most I see are brown or a cream color. But yours is a beautiful pink color. If I could find one like that, I would get it in a second.
  5. That is my other concern... thanks for the feedback guys. Torch are just not nearly as beautiful as R or Gbta's. But my clowns will probably have the same chance hosting both, don't you all think?
  6. Hey PNWMAS! I have a 20 gallon and its been up for about 9 months. I have t5HOs with ind reflectors and one actinic and one 10 k bulb. Its a total of 48watts. I have a few frags in the tank. I love BTAs, but I don't want it to move around, I've seen alot of people on youtube with the same lights and size tank with them, and they're thriving. I love torch, but definetly not as pretty as BTA's. They don't move around which is a plus. My clowns might host it, but i think a BTA would give them a better chance. Here is the youtube video I was talking about, he has the exact setup as me. Thanks everyone in advance!! I hope to get alot of feedback:D
  7. Thank you so much with all of the wonderful feedback!! Thanks everyone including mark for the great posts! My bulbs are only about 1-2 months old. I have high water flow IMO(one koralia nano and one 30g biobube aqueon). I dont know what the source of the nutrients are! I vacuum, then use RO water and mix the appropriate salt, let it set for 24hrs, heat it to tank temp and pour it in(obviously have it ready for the day of removing water). What I'm hearing is that everyone agrees its a phase, and that is great to hear. I'm very dillegent with the wcs, but I think I will purchase some chemiclean, thanks everyone!
  8. Hello again, I still have trouble with cyano and hair algae, id this just a 2-4 month long phase that a tank goes through? Or am I doing something drastically wrong? I'm using RO water now, but where are all of the nutrients coming from?? Thanks for the help already!

Sorry, didn't know if open brain was a LPS or SPS, so I hope I'm in the right place!! With my lighting, 24X2 watt nova extreme t5ho ind. reflected bulbs, can I keep an open brain? I just love them, because of their coral and shape. If I can, how big do they get? I imagine they never stop growing, correct?
  14. Correct me if I'm wrong, the model I'm using, the water passes through the RO membrane and then the waste water exits through the drain. Thats what it looks like anyway by following the tubing.
  15. Oh, thanks for the advice reefcam. I think I'll do that when I need to change it out, but in the mean time, can I use the drain water in addition to the pure water? The drain water goes 3 stages and then exits the tubing.
  16. Thank you everyone for the replys(rock2) It's brand new. And it's a 35GPD. And I bought it from THE PURE WATER CLUB.
  17. I think this is a stupid question, but here it goes: I recently bought a new RO system and I was wondering if I still need to use water conditioner? Oh, and the rate at which the system makes pure water is about 1 gallon/hour. This is probably a little faster than it really is too. I hooked up the water line tube to the faucet, the water goes it, some drains out the restrictor tube, and then a drizzle comes out the pure water end. It takes absolutely forever for my 5 gallon bucket to fill up, it's about 1/16 full, and the RO has been on for about an hour! Could PNWMAS please help me??? Thanks in advance everyone!
  18. If your looking for a site: http://www.marcorocks.com/
  19. Just as an update, I started feed him, and he plumped right up, thanks for all of your help everyone!!!
  20. I put two on top of each other and rotate them every month: cleaning one and leaving one to keep the bacteria. But I simply run hot freshwater through them to answer your question.
  21. ha, that was halarious!! I like it when the lady tells the crying one that they can recycle the acros into the calcium reactor!!(laugh)
  22. Good idea with the bottle! They look a ton better today, they look much more plump. I'll try feeding them tonight with an enclosed area.
