  2. Of any kind of fish??
  3. I could put a pantyhoe on the filter or something. Would the babies mate with eachother once they got older or would I have to buy new? ANd from the site you gave me, are those CB or WC?
  4. I've been reading up on them: http://www.seahorse.org/library/articles/dwarfguide/dwarfguide.shtml Do you agree with what it says here? Maybe I should start with regular horses that are captive bred so I have better success, what do you think?
  5. I read a bit more about them on the site. They are only -1.5 inches! That is tiny! I just kinda laugh at that. That would be cute, but you could easily loose them, no? How big would the babies be then? I also read that they only live for about a year. Do regular seahorses have a longer life expectancy? Thanks for the help so far and in advance!
  6. THanks, they have a bunch! It doesn't say much about them. which ones did you get? And which ones do you recommend that I could possibly get? I was looking at the one pregnant male and will have about 15 babies, what is the survival rate? And how big are they(the adults)?
  7. THank you so much! But you dropped the link:p
  8. Thanks for the quick reply. Thats great to hear!! How many dwarfs could I keep in the tank?
  9. Hi pnwmas! I have a 10g tank laying around and Im wondering if I could make it into a dwarf seahorse tank. I have some plastic plants and some fake coral. I also have dry sand laying around along with a light. I could start a tank without buying much. Do you all think it could work? Or do dwarf seahorses need a bigger tank? Thanks guys!
  10. I actually don't have any coral in the tank right now, they all died(sad) But my anemone is doing fine. I found some cheap ones at petsmart.com-which one do you recommend? Please don't say the $350 one!! http://www.petsmart.com/search/index...terilizer&sr=1
  11. I'll put the carbon back in. I have the Tetra carbon.
  12. And my tank isn't in sunlight at all maybe for 10 min in the morning, but that is it. I've set my timer so I only have about 8 hours of light, should i reduce it more? Thank you all so much for trying to help! I really have a big problem here and I couldn't do it without all of you guys!
  13. Thanks guys, I'm using a 4 stage ro water system I got from the pure water club. My rock was from a established aquarium from my lfs, only a handful of gravel from my fw setup was kept, the only reason I did that was so that the cycle would speed up because of the bacteria on the gravel. I'll cut down on my lights.
  14. My rock was brand new too, all cured. My nem is very healthy in spite of the algae bloom, there is no algae on the sand or rocks, just in the water column. I cannot do a sump for sure. I was running activated carbon, but stopped because it didn't seem to help anything. Thank you all for the advice, but I'm still very confused about what to do. P.S. I bought a brand new skimmer, the brand is unknown, but it takes out alot of bad stuff, it does a good job.
  15. Okay, I should have been a slight more specific, I only kept a handful of gravel from my fw tank, so you can only see a few pebbles here and there. I've had sand since the start. ANd I did NOT rinse the rock in freshwater. What I did was a water change and collected the water I siphoned out into a bucket, then scrubbed them in that bucket of water and restored the loss of water with new water. So I cleaned them up in salt water! How much would a hang on uv sterilizer cost??
  16. That pic isn't actually nearly as bad as it is now, right now it is very very green and cloudy. Lowman, I had a bacterial bloom about a month ago, that was milky this is just grouse
  17. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THE REPLIES!!!! i REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR HELP!! 1)Parameters: salt-1.025 Ammonia-0 nitrites-0 nitrates-0 phosphates-0.03 Alk-3.1 meg/l ph-8.2 Calcium-440 2)Bioload-2 occ clowns(1.5 inch, 1 inch), 1 royal gramma(1 inch), 1 cherub angel(1-1.5), 1 gbta, blood shrimp, 4 nacc snails, 3 hermits. 3) Lighting: 2X24 watt t5ho 1 10k 1 actinic(Nova Extreme), I'm running it from about 900am to about 9pm. SO samp temp and parameters. 6)Color: The haze is a Tropical rain forest green with a lemon yellow twist. Just kidding, its green. 7)Pic: This is right after a 60% water change.
  18. Hi yall!! For the last 3 weeks or so, my 20g tank has suffered serious algae blooms. Free floating algae is in the water and even with a 75% wc, the algae reproduces so fast that the next day the water is cloudy again. I've tried almost everything. I've taken out every rock in my tank, rinsed and scrubbed it and put it back in and nothing looks better. I bought a new skimmer. And I'm also running a hob filter with a filter pad that i clean once a day. I've done a lot of water changes and nothing helps. I was thinking of getting a micron sock and siphoning all the water through it into buckets and pouring it back in the tank. People have recommended UV sterilizers, but I don't have a sump and I don't want to invest in anything that I don't know will work. So does anyone have any experience with this monster so I can conquer it?!?!?! It doesn't want to go away on its own.
  19. I do have a small fan that I could point at the light.
  20. Do you remember roughly the width and length? And the length of the arm?
  21. Hi PNWMAS! Has anyone had any experience with this mh light? I'm seriously thinking about buying it. BUt I have an issue, with the space. My tank is partially underneath a tight wooden cabinet, so I coudn't clamp in on the back. So my only options are the sides and the front. But because of the heat that mh gives off, I'm a bit worried that it could burn the wood. So does anyone own this and have the demensions? Thanks a bunch!! 22. THanks for the help guys, I'm still unsure of what I'm going to get. I have a very tight space, so is the collection cup the only thing that needs to be external? If so, it would fit perfectly.
  23. Is it true that the tunze is fully submersible, but the collection cup must be above water?
  24. Thanks for the reply, but which one are you refering to?
