  1. Oh I'm sorry, I meant NOT bleached, that was a typo...
  2. Well, I'm back home now, and the acan isn't really puffy, just sort of opened, but it's not bleached...Maybe too much flow?? It's enough to sway them a bit...I'm having a really hard time feeding those guys, I can't really see their sweeper tenticles, are they short or long??
  3. I'll feed it everytime I feed the fish, which is only a couple times a week anyways;)
  4. I just came back from the Bandon Dunes area, and I was going to pick up some rock, good thing i forgot!!! I didn't know it was illegal!!DOH!
  5. Thanks...but I left my neighbor some instructions on when to turn the lights on and off...
  6. Too bad I already super glued it to a rockDOH!DOH! It's pretty low though, And gets a good amount of flow, It's opening up alittle, I'm actually going out of town here soon, will it be okay if I leave surrounding lights on for 3 days with none of the big lights?? I got a timer, but I don't think it's working right....I don't want the lights to be on 24/7!!
  7. Thanks everyone!!!! I'll give you and update soon with a pic if they're doing well!
  8. Thanks impur, I'm feeding a single piece of food twice a week, is that a good amount? Or should I do more?
  9. Alrighty, thanks guys for the advice, I'll keep those things in mind...I want this coral to thrive, unlike my other failuresDOH!
  10. Hey PNWMAS!! I just bought 3 heads of Acan from the lfs today, the looked nice and plump in the store, but obviously because I put it in my tank, it's flat and looks like a piece of rock I colored with marker. But my real question is, when will they open and bulk up again??? I tried target feeding it after the light went out, but I accidently touched it and it immediately closed up..So as you can probably already tell, I've never had a Acan before, so I need all of the advice I can get for these beautiful corals:D:D:D Thanks yall!!
  11. One more question, how fast do they grow????
  12. Someone on a different thread recommended The Pure Water Club, which they purchased theirs from. I was looking at Air water and Ice, but theirs are so expensive. So I called the Pure Water CLub, and they said a the 5 stage portable would be great for a nano, so I bought it. I now it's sudden, but the servicers said it was a great deal with wonderful feedback. And it was only $56:) I hope RO water fixes all of my problems:)
  13. http://cgi.ebay.com/REVERSE-OSMOSIS-RO-DI-REEF-AQUARIUM-REEF-WATER-FILTER_W0QQitemZ270548737909QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3efdf61f75 What about this ro/di? It says new, I have NO knowledge of these, so what do you think of this system??
  14. I actually think that the skimmer does a good job, I replace the airstones about every 4 weeks. I do heavey wc, about 30-40%. I use a simple hydrometer. My sg is between 1.025-1.026
  15. I only have 1 koralia nano in there, and I read that they need a lot of flow, I've been getting algae lately too, so maybe that will prevent it in the future...
  16. Did it only happen with your frogspawn?? Wierd, maybe they are very suseptable, because my other corals look fine. My fs has this tene tiny little head that I think will frag before it get's too late and see if it grows back. Do you know if torch is suseptable?
  17. Yes I do, I use this 2 part combination: http://www.petco.com/product/11426/Kordon-Amquel-Plus-Water-Conditioner.aspx?CoreCat=OnSiteSearch http://www.petco.com/product/13672/Kordon-NovAqua-Plus-Water-Conditioner.aspx?CoreCat=OnSiteSearch
  18. yep, I know, need a ro/di unit, but it may take a while
  19. About 5 days ago, I just made some new water. I was thinking, would it help to boil the water, would that get rid of the phosphates?
  20. Sorry, the light is off now, so can't get a good pic... Idk what is wrong with my tank!!!! It's so frustrating!! Hopefully a ro/di unit will fix everything(clap)
  21. (sad) Maybe I can get a new one at oasis(my lfs) I re-tested, nitrates-still 0(scratch)
  22. I hope it does for the fs!! The lfs near me is petco, but they use quick dips and of course, as most people know, that's not a great store. The other lfs is about 30 min away but it's only open during the day during the week, which is hard to get too...So I'll re-test. Should I scrape off the pulp?
  23. I bought a new marine lab(only one they had, but it's a drip test tube type of test) test kit and my nitrates are actually 0!!!!?!?!??!?pH is 8.1 Very interesting, my light has been off for about 2 days now and my fs now has this clear fuzzy fleshy pulp growing around the polyps, and on one head the polyps aren't even there anymore(sad) And now it's covering the other one....(wife)
  24. Thanks for the advice!!! I'll make sure I get some new test kits next time I go to the LFS!! They're cheaper too! The quick dips I just bought are $35!!
