Hey there PNWMAS! I'm having a real problem picking the best skimmer for my 20g. I want a relatively small skimmer. A very high quality but not to expensive, and a super efficent skimmer. I've been looking at the AquaC Remora nano and the Tunze nano 9002, does anyone have any experience with these? My ultimate goal is to have crystal clear water, and I've had a hard time with it. Great reef! I think i picked out the cyphastrea....So you don't go out of your way to feed them, just let them pick up their own food that passes buy?

That's kinda sad. Can corals be under stress like fish can? I mean, of course they can die and get sick, but is the best way to prevent infection high water quality? kind of a dumb ? lol

I'll have to wait a bit also because my tank has been extremely cloudy lately and its just starting to go away. One other question: On dd, you see the coral covering the plug like a blanket, but yours doesn't seem to do that, it looks like its only branching...

Thanks guys for the quick reply. The cyphastrea is the middle one right? The lighter one? And I would be putting it in a 20 gallon with 48w t5ho with ind. reflectors. And I have one nano koralia and one nano oceanic biocube ph. I have pretty good flow I think. Is there a cheaper place I could buy one? I usually wait on dd for the price to go down over time.

I contacted stylaster and apologized for my lack of wisdom on my part for not asking for permission to do that at TRT. But he said it was fine as long as I put pnwmas.org at the forum title and make it clear that the headquarters are here. So I'm glad this is straightened out. I apologize to everyone for my childish move to try and "run" pnwmas at TRT. I've contacted a administrator over there about the situation. If everyone is feeling this way, I wouldn't mind shutting it down, it just started and only 4 members at TRT. I hope everyone understands that I honestly had no intention of stealing the name or trying to bring the attention to trt instead of here. I'll let the TRT administrators decide what will happen to the club. If you are all cool with simply putting pnwmas.org at the club title, I'd be happy to do that. Sorry for the confussion!! Berg

I've also seen diy projects where people use a glass cover and then drill alot of holes in it so gas exchange is still proficent and light isn't filtered through as much.

Hey Jack, on my other thread you gave me a link about lights, and it said that the actinic light actually encourages algae growth. ANd my bulbs are 1 10k and and 1 420nm actinic. Could that be a factor? But on the other hand I have seen plenty of tanks with alot of actinic bulbs and they have crystal clear sand.

Should have been more specific, if I place a sps coral(branching for example) near the surface then when the water level drops or it grows to high, the air will penetrate it.
