I would stay with pvc! Especialy going through the wall. If you use vinyl there is a real possibility of it pinching or other terible things! Also I would keep the overflow as large as posible. Reducing it in size can not only make it so it cant keep up with your return pump but from my own exsperience the smaller the overflow the louder its going to be. If you do go smaller make sure and plumb in a ball valve so you can adjust the flow back into the tank acordingly.

I must re-visit this thread. I have to say this cause it needs to be said! Me and a friend had plans to head down today to pick up some stuff and my buddys wife got sick so he needed to stay home with her today. Well we had a bunch of stuff we wanted to get at the Premium A and as we couldnt make it down today I called and asked G if we could come down last night after I got off work as an emergency coral/fish run. LOL Garrett out of the kindness of his heart let us come down at 8PM last night to pick stuff up and do some shopping. As always, I was faced with insane prices, healthy livestock, and of course as much reef talk as I could handle. (Also, anyone who wants to check out an 8" Vlamingi just swing by lol). You continue to find ways to bring me back to the Salem area my friend! Cheers to you and the Premium aquarium!

Hey Kim, A great book to start with is "The 101 Best Marine Invertebrates" By Scott W. Michael. Great quick ref guide full of pictures and knoledge!

Hello my friend. That sounds like a great idea! Your main filter is going to be your live rock and sand so the more the better! Its awesome that your making the move to the dark side! lol And welcome to the forum, there is a huge wealth of knoledge on here! Just remember nothing good happens fast in the saltwater game. Read, read, read and give your tank 3 months or so to cycle. Maybe throw in a few damsels to help with the cycle.

LOL that is so funny! I must say Kim the one I have is fierce! Any time I go in the kitchen he starts klicking in his little pvc burrow! LOL I threw in three hermits and withing 1 hour they were all dead. He didnt just pull them out either, broke there shells in half like a wallnutt.

Melanurus wrasse 365 days a year my friend! They are the most prone to leave your other inverts alive and well and will eat up all your flatworms! Also add your wrasse at night so they will go right to bed (in the sand) This will also increase the chances of your inverts survival.

get ahold of Brad (reefjunkie) for the Ponape. He has some nice sized frags of it. Also Garrett does in Salem if Brad doesnt have any.

The Gypsy Pickle has been sold to one Bradzillah. Hes new to the hobby so I hope he takes good care of it!!! (scary)(laugh)

LOL Wow Brad im sooooooo tempted to take the bait on that!!! Thanks guys! I love this Acro but it grows about as fast as Brads Purple Monster and its killing me! Would be a great deal for someone, this is truely a beautiful coral. Im bummed because my picture is going to suck! Its at the very top of the tank and all my shots end up looking like a photo of the sun! :(
