  4. Hey Think I got the rock sorted out, but I still would love to give my clam a new home. I would like to trade it for a nice acro or meli colony. Here is a picture. Doesnt do it justice but there it is none the less. (clap)
  5. hmm looking for as much rock as I can get for it. let me see if I can take a good picture of it.
  6. Sorry Mick Sorry mick :( Ive got a 180 gal tank with way to little rock. lol
  7. I have a nice looking Crociea about 3.5 long. Gets some nice deep blue and green colors. also have a 5+ polyp frag of lunar eclipses and a 5+ polyp frag of TCM Armegedons. I would like to trade all or some for some nice live rock.
  8. yo Test the water you are getting from Tim. Its coming from the water your putting in your tank. Buy an RODI unit next and start mixing your own. That should have been the first thing I purchased! :( [language filter] it sucks luggin around 5gal buckets of water!!!!
  9. no No, dont think its coming from Tims water. Its probobly leaching from your rock and or sand. When I first got started I used a product called Extrax Phos made by brightwell aquatics. Get a mini bag and a large container of that stuff. fallow the directions to the tee! I believe its a half cup for a tank your size. ALso after you put the half cup into the mini bag, wash it very well and then drop the bag into your sock in your sump. I was going to tell ya, your next purchase should not be corals or livestock. When I first started I wanted to learn everything there was about this hobby so I went out and bought a bunch of books. A few good ones are coral propogation by Adam calfo vol 1 & 2 and Salt water tanks for dummies (not trying to be rude! good book!) Between reading and driving my friends crazy with questions I learned a ton and saved mucho dinero on stuff I would have killed. PS: that doesnt meen I didnt have any casulties . Just remember, many of us reefers are very pasionate about doing our part to help make it right again with Posidon lol. IE dont like seeing stuff die, so take peoples advice and scoldings with a light heart. And read, read, read!
  10. yes yes definatley burp your clam (slowly roll it over). I had a Derassa for a long time. I found that it did best with an option. I scatterd some small rubble pieces, 3/4" to maybe 1" around him on the sand bottom. not enough to trap him but enough to give him a choice of anchoring to a rock as well. definatley liked that. The drooping is healthy, its just trying to suck up as much light as posible. If it starts to gape you have an issue. The number one thing you can do is not to stress. Just keep up on your water changes. With such a new tank you should be able to keep your perameters fine with just water changes. you shouldnt have to dose yet, with such a new tank and so little in it to suck up calc and mag. Do keep an eye on your phosphates though. For me this hobby has taught me that the more I stress the worse things get. You are more likely to make mistakes and jump the gun on dosing or moving it and just make it worse.
  11. Pictures I think I posted these right. Im not sure how to post the picture in the post.
  12. sale? pm sent......................
  13. Sand Hey, was just out to garretts and he has bulk sand stacked to the ceiling! he has bags of super fine white sand at a great deal! I would give him a shout!
  14. A few things at Garretts Well made the trip out to garrets today to pick up a few things. Some salt, sand a nice Valida, some chromis for patherguy, crabs, snails... hmmm what else? AND A 180 GAL TANK AND STAND!!! (rock2) Is it wrong that me and the wife took apart the dinner table to make room for this tank. 180 gal tank in our 1056 sq ft apartment. (laugh) Love it! Thanks Garrett!
  15. Yup Yeah, just put some tank water in a small cup. put your food in there and add a 1/2 capful of the garlic gaurd and let it sit for 20 min or so. then just dump it in. Great for imune system and wont effect anything else. (clap)
  16. hmm I have had in the past that happen to a few fish and I came to the conclusion that it was an internal type of fungus. Being that I didnt see anything on the outside. The problom with internal fungus is its very hard to treat. The best thing to do is start using a garlic gaurd or something to boost the imune system and hope the fish fights it off by itself. The sucking thing is a normal behaviour for an anemone fish. there just cleaning there host so I wouldnt worry about that.
