Free hydrometer 4 ya I have a hydrometer that you can have-LOL But you're a nice guy so I cant do that to you-In other words -IMO-don't do it. Just out of curiosity, I tested my tank with the hydrometer and then with my refractometer- a difference of .2 My hydrometer is made by coralife I believe. Anyway if you want it you can have it- in exchange for a few answers to the questions I might have when hooking up my DA Reefkeeper Elite I just picked up-LOL LMK

Nothing CAN come out of my tank-I used epoxy to glue all the rocks to each other most of the top ones-not the base-And I agree those rics, are doing rotten-they keep splitting. Short answer without going check, yup, check-I can't see a thing wrong with any of those params/equipment at all- Like how much hair algae-got any pics? I have about 4 Turbos plus the rest of the CUC in my 75- those guys munch algae some tangs are veracious on algae Ever thought about possibly adding a sea hare- Travis at upscales "leased" me one last year-LOL

Yep that's a winner for sure-Sounds about the same size of the one I bought my wife but the one I bought her is a 1 MILLION volt not 100K. Just the sound of that thing arcing would make me want to run- And whatthat guy did, that does not sound to crazy-I think its a typical guy thing-always curious about how things work-very analytical-(nutty)

That's funny, as I was scrolling down through the photos, I was thinking "wonder if he's using a tri-pod" Those rics look great and if you had a pod it would make them crystal clear I bet especially using the timer. Wish I had a camera I could adjust the white balance better and all the other little things. Is that a macro setting or are you just zooming in? Anyway-very nice! Never to many photos-IMHO

Well I pulled the trigger and bought the Digital Aquatices Reef Keeper Elite, so if what I have been reading it will help with all the "new" adjustments I get to make-especially after building the "Kalkenstein"-(laugh) That name is just hilarious. I dont know that I have a high evaporation, I just like to look at the extreme cases-in the event I do I saw that as being a concern. My ATO is gravity fed from a 30 Gallon Res. that is hooked up directly to a float within my sump-Maybe I need reconfig everything??? Might be sending out a few PM's Just can t leave the tank alone can I? That's a very rhetorical question-(nutty) Thanks for the replies so far-

Coming down the final stretch; if things open up the most "Byrd" is going to have is 13 (if everybody opens) 10 for sure-with 2 maybe 3 on the fence that I can make out- I guess we will be having an extended photo period Sunday night-lights out at 12:02am-(laugh)

I'm going to add a Kalk Reactor to my current setup; Its called the "Kalkenstein"-(laugh) oh and under "tools" beer is not optional-its higher on the list http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1560576 My question for those who drip Kalk, if I hook this up as part of my top off, and I have a lot of evaporation and as a result a lot of Kalk being added as it is now incorporated into my RO/DI top off-wont that really throw things out of balance-I cant see how it could not. My other option which is most likely the route I am talking is to have it set up independent of my top off and either ran off of a timer so it does a few times a day ( which I'll determine how long after more reading) or I will have it ran from the controller I will be buying. I figure the later is the best, but my wallet is still suffering from- "PTCPS" (post traumatic chalice purchasing shock) thoughts opinions, or both.. TIA

I have the probe from my PH controller that runs the solenoid to my Calc reactor in a probe holder that reads the effluent and trips the solenoid on when the PH hits 6.8 and then off at 6.6-this is strictly for my Ca Reactor. In addition I have a PH Monitor in the sump to read the display tanks PH. To seperate probes to for two seperate apps. both made by Marine Pinpoint. I have this sitting in my garage that I used to top off my tank with RO/DI before plumbing my sump with a float. Agreed, I hope my reply did not look that way. They are not bad looking but they are agressive so they need to have their own room, or an xacto knife-I like the later(plotting)

I take an xacto knife and cut them off and scrape the heck out of the rock until there is no visible sign of them left. In an extreme case, I then take the "red" epoxy and form a sheet/layer and lay it over the rock so they can not come back. Yes they die :eek: (laugh)

Make sure those bad boys don't get on another rock-They look like the type I had that wipe out a Nuke green colony of zoos I had- Started with one polyp that I thought was just a morph-a few months later my vivid green zoos were decimated. This was from my first tank. they are neat looking but the green was better-IMO

I had peppermint shrimp eat all mine-then something ate all my peppermint shrimp- Circle of life in my reef-(laugh)

That same blue polyp frag is sitting in my T5 tank ,it now has 4 polyps not 3. And my GOC has quadrupled-go figure. Its still hear for you-I offered it up and I still got it. You will be cashing in a something nice form the GOC, UNLESS you post on FEB1st-(plotting)
