  1. I would like to be added to the list please
  2. I am in if there is a spot left Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  3. Zoo, where are you located?
  4. Yes I considered that option but it will not likely work for my application. At least not without some substantial modification. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  5. Hey all, I am looking for a little 2 to 5 gallon tank. It doesn't have to be anything special but I would prefer acrylic. I just want something I can drill and turn into refugium. Just thought someone might have something lying around they are not using. The photo is what I had set up as a refugium with my 120 and I want to something similiar. 6. Doing all the research on this LED lighting I am starting to think about going back to my MH lighting as well. Maybe I am old school but it just seemed so much less complicated. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  7. Sent you a PM Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  8. Finally got my remote sump and water mixing area looking closer to the way I want it and have a couple of additions to the tank. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  9. I agree with that. I wouldn't mind throwing a par meter under my lights one day just to see what the numbers are as a basis for comparison. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  10. Looking great! Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  11. I agree par value is a helpful number but ultimately it is just that, a number, it does not necessarily assure the health of your tank or your corals. There are way too many other factors, ie lights in tank coral came from, aquacultured or live caught, ect, ect, that contribute to the level of light necessary for a particular coral. I don't see anything wrong with comparing the dialed values with another person having success with a similiar set up, in fact, people are constantly comparing their par numbers with others in this same manner. When I first started this hobby 15 or so years ago I, and many other reefers, had never even heard of a par meter. Not to say that using other tools is not helpful but there were some amazing tanks out there even then. I think we would do a lot better if we ignored numbers and went with experience and what we see with our own eyes. Just my humble, and likely old school opinion. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  12. I am expirementing with the same thing. When I had to get out of the hobby, 9 years ago, it was all about metal halides. Getting back into it now I decided to try these Viparspectra 165 watt LEDs. Had them set at about 70 blue and 20 white. I noticed my Rainbow Monti was lightening up a bit so after some Google searching I adjusted them down to 45 blue and about 8 white. My tank, after sand bed, is only about 15 inches deep and the lights are about 12 inches off the water so I will just have to see how it works out. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  13. I am sure this has been done several times before but I had to commend Cuttlefish on their great customer service. Since getting back into the hobby, after about a 9 year hiatus, I have been to C&C twice. On both occasions Jeff has gone out of his way to get me set up with what I need, even when what I was looking for was old technology..lol. He is knowledgeable and the tanks and livestock looks awesome. By far one of the more professional, customer service oriented LFS I have been too. They have certainly earned my business and I would recommend them to anyone from beginner to experienced reefer. Thanks again Jeff. I will see you next time! Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  14. Wow! That is quite an advancement over the DA Reefkeeper. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  15. I know this question is really individual dependant but I have been eyeballing the Apex. I really feel like the benefits for me are the temp, salinity and PH probes and having the ability to auto turn off a runaway heater. I might consider a dosing pump as I am hoping to better automate my dosing with this tank. With my last tank I had a DA Reefkeeper when it was the latest greatest and I loved the peace of mind. I was really disappointed to see they were out of the game. The 800 outlay on the Apex keeps me a little weary. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  16. I have found myself making a list of the must have corals I need to track down. I was not near as picky when I had my 120 but now with a nano I have found myself becoming quite a coral snob, due to space. I have always loved the high end Monti's but with this tank I have started to discover Chalices. I didn't have any in my last tank but dang there are some out there with ridiculous color! 17. Tank is progressing quite nicely. Everything is looking great so I added a couple monti frags. Also decided I needed more flow than the returns would give me so I added an aqamai KPM. I am actually quite impressed with it. The app is not super user friendly but once I got it figured out it is really a nice addition. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  18. Where are you located. I would take the reefkeeper if it is feasible to get it? Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

  20. You still have the Mummy Eye available? Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
