1. So I was given a free tank last week. a 35 gallon bowfront with rocks and fish. what a nice guy. well it camee with a 75 gallon rena filter and heater etc. however the light was less than desirable. so last night I forked out a lot of money and got a 250w metal halide with four atnic t5. I'm stoked
2. another one midnight angel

4. So what I have is a 1 1/2 year old aquapod aquarium and stand. It has a built in filter run by a power head. It comes with stand and sunpod 70wt metal halide with bulb. The bulb is 14k. It has 8 led lights 4 blue and 4 white. I had the tank set up for a reef tank, but I was given a larger tank. This tank doesn't leak. I just broke it down today. The tank does not come with fish or invert. Just the tank.. $100.00 12gallons sold
5. So I am taking a friends tank off their hands. I haven't seen it yet. though it's already set up as a reef aquarium. I kept telling him that it took hard work and money to keep the reef aquarium going, but they never listen. Anyway so I believe its a 29 gallon bowfront. All he has going I believe are mushrooms. Anyway he has crappy compact florecent light on it from what I here. And I dont want them. So what kind of lighting should I buy? I have t-5 lighting on some of my tanks at home. But will the work on the depth of the water. i also have tanks with metal halides over them. but they are always running hot. I do wanna try HID lights. I will however not buy any more led's. They just don't work that great. So what lighting do you recemmend?
6. Welcome. Im in springfield. if you ever need any help. I've been doing this for years now.. so just ask away
7. So barecuda, or anyone else. could I put a rbta in with my three month old tomato clowns? would they notice it? since they haven't had one.... they never leave the filter out take. ever. so would i be wasting my time? I know in the clown book it says they seek out anemone in the wild for protection when they are newly fry, but I wondered if in the wild that may also have cause a amount of mortality. so I thought I would ask.
8. So my long spined urchin a couple months ago was spewing eggs and sperm. I thought nothing about it. today I was moving my anemone and something poked me in the finger. It was a baby long spined urchin. about the size of a marble. I didn't get a chance to take a picture before it went behind rocks, but I don't have room for two. I'd like to trade it for something.. whatcha got...
9. I actually had better luck with a tile, for laying eggs, but maybe beacuse my clowns are so big... and the anemone is so high in the tank.... and since it's a reef tank, it takes up less room and is hide able. I had read in a book that you can also use plexi glass, or acylic for them to lay their eggs on. I am soon trying this.. so I will let you know.. I think it may work because my reef tank is plexi- glass, and the clowns lay the eggs on that already. And I dont want to have something noticable in the tank.

14. well right now we have a 20 tall tank with a metal halide over it 250 watts, and we were thinking about changing it over to HID they say the produce more per watt, also they say they dont need a fan. well this one doesnt. I also has one cord, built in ballast, and for t5 light bulbs. in that tank we have an arrangement of polyps, mushrooms and zoas, as well has a brain coral and frog spawn. hammer head and two torch corals. as well as two maroon clowns and a shrimp. so I guess we have a bit of everything...

17. nice... just be carefull with your chocolate chip star. I had one that ate my polyps, and use to climb to the top of the tank and drop down on fish eating them.. good choice with starter fish and inverts though... tanks look real good.. good luck..
18. I have a maroon clown fish female that needs a good new home. Im just wanting to put my tomato clown fish baby into the tank and I dont have room for both... i just need to catch her but she is free to a good home. she is about two and tank raised. I've had her since she is small. she goes into all the anemones I've ever owned and instantly. She has been in long tenacles, bubble tip anemones, and carpet anemones. she doesnt bother any of her tank mates. I have two gobys in her tank and two shrimps. she also loves to go into frog spawn and hairy mushrooms. Her name is fatty cause she loves to eat... hers her picture

cuddle fish

So i went back and he fed the cuddle fish for me they changed colors and shape. they made themselves look kinda like a piffer fish with spikes. they ate the whole fish, and they have this tenacle that shoots out its mouth and raps around the prey. Its like the movie aliens.. so cool. he said that he hatched both of the cuddle fish.. [language filter] i need to convince my hubby I need a new tank and fast befor they are gone
20. Yes he has already dug in my three inch aragorite .4-1.5mm sand. It doesnt take but a minute for them to hide and tunnel. In another tank I have a tiger and a randol pistol shrimp each has their own side of the tank and their own goby. The randal however doesnt dig very much.. he hides in all my rocks. very small. I was worried that my maroon clown might find him and have him as lunch but he only has one close call... the tiger is about two inches and he has tunnels everywhere. he's in and out all day, and I always know where he is due to his antenie. which are bright red and twice as long as his body. he walks on rocks and under them.... my sand never has to be cleaned.. just pull out about 20 percent water once a month..... they keep me memorised. and they click all the time....
