  1. PM replied. I'm just thinking of driving to portland today and he wanted some corals. He has not been on the board and it's his day off. So that is why I ask.
  2. One is chasing the other and that one is now hiding most the time.
  3. If I have contacted you I'm still going to give you a chance to look at what I have. If not, look for my next post.
  4. Does anyone have CA2OR's phone number? Please PM me.
  5. I'm going to make new threads with more detail.
  6. So it looks like the inlaws will be watching the tank. Five months is a long time to leave a tank, but I'll take the chance. So now I have to trim it down to just one tank that will be stable for 5 months. And I have to setup an auto top off to make it easier. This leaves me with a whole bunch of stuff to sell. Which is good because I really need the money.
  7. I thought I had someone already taking all the corals, but that might fall through. If that falls through I will have the following available. I will try to get items to those who spoke up first, but no holds until we agree on a price for a specific item/s. Small galaxia $5 giant paly $10 each fuzzy mushroom, watermelon mushroom, blue mushroom $2-8 each xenia $1-10 big 6 inch round birdsnest $60, frags $5-15 pocillipora pink/green $5-20 x5 pink/purple cats paw $15-25 x2 Many zoas of different prices/frag size (best if you can stop by and pick out) frogspawn $15-20 x3 LR $3/lb LS $1.50/lb Ocelaris clowns small $15 x4 arabian psudochromis $36 yellow eye kole tang $33 banggai cardinals $25 x2 (two males I think) snails $1-3 hermits $1 And a few more items. Hardware to come later.
  8. Nice pics. This is a nice looking tank.
  9. Zoas will be $.50-$1.50 per polyp plus the cost of the rock they are on.
  10. All frogspawn for $50. Top one only $20. Bottom one can be cut into two. All for $30 or half for $15.
  11. Thanks! That would be great. I insist on some payment and I understand that even the best reefers can have issues at times so totally forgivable. I would still prefer someone closer to corvallis just to make it easier.
  12. I might be moving to Alaska for the summer. I would have to sale all my stuff. I think I might keep just one tank and set it up when I return. There are a few livestock items that I would really want to keep. My clams, two clowns and their xenia, and some zoas. I'm wondering if anyone could watch these for me over the summer. I would only have other livestock for payment. Thanks,
  13. I have other reasons to not use it than I stated before. I don't because it might take out some good stuff that my macro wants to use. If I had much pest algae or my corals didn't look good, I would do water changes and consider using some phosphate remover as a first thought because I know this wouldn't hurt anything.
  14. I personally just try to make my tanks as simple as can be. I don't need it so I don't use it.
  15. Looks like Pseudochromis porphyreus. Purple pseudochromis.
  16. Good point. I can see this happen. Although it has not happened in any of my systems yet.
  17. Very cool. I hope it all goes smooth.
  18. Thanks for all the help and nice words. I figured I might have to upgrade the ballast in a year or so. I didn't consider the wiring. Did you use 18 gauge wires? The arabian is going to always be alone. I read that you have to put them with much bigger aggressive fish if you want to put them with anything. It is a pig of a fish. It cleaned out most of the amphipods in the tank the first week. Now it eats what I give it and then tries to still all the food I gave my corals. I have to distract it while the corals down their food.

  20. I don't think you will have an outbreak. I fully agree with almost everything. I think that carbon is the only thing to run in a phosban "reactor". I don't think that more than one macro in your refugium helps much. I like chaeto only for fuge and at least 20% display volume for fuge. Also it's important to give your fuge enough light, 20% of display wattage if you can. But I do like some other macro in the display. Also I think that overskimming is only needed if you are going to overstock with fish or a bad mix of corals. I had a skimmer that most would say was underskimming, but it produced the same skimmate when on for 12 hours a day as 24 hours. I feel like it was skimming everything that could be skimmed. This was on my system before I moved and now I have less skimmers running and still doing alright.
  21. I was worried about heat but so far it only seems to raise 1 degree from night temp. It's been on for 6 hours and everything is looking very good. Here's a pic.
