  1. I have a simple sump on my 180. It is a 55 gallon rubbermaid. If I had more money I would do a lot more,, maybe someday. I have a small skimmer, a heater, a powerhead, return pumps, and carbon in the sump. Also, most important, lots of space for macro algae to grow.
  2. I recently sold 100% of my brewing supplies so that I could buy more fish stuff. One reason was that my favorite beer, Deschutes, is easy to get here in Oregon. Now I'm moving back to Utah and maybe I should have kept it.
  3. He probably wants the smaller 5 gallon cornilious kegs that are often used in home brewing. The reason he calls them pepsi kegs is because years ago they were used for soda syrup.
  4. Match the shape on the tail and you will have the same species of cleaner shrimp and if you put two together they should both get eggs. It takes two to get eggs and they will both have them. They are hermaphrodites so it is possible for one to have eggs by its self but it is rare.
  5. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2942132&CatId=1427 I do like it on this PC. I had it for my old system and I don't think it worked as well with that MB. I have it set up for raid0 now. It's very fast, 120-150 for transfer but it's slow to seek, ~12. I was going to test it on this and then switch it to 0+1 or 5.
  6. I do things a little different than most gamers, but I like the way my systems work for everything. my system- intel 3.2 quad core (45nm, 1333fsb) intel MB gtx 260 video ddr3 1333 ram 4gb (2x 2gb) 4x 320gb hard drives in a raid tv tuner card nice corsair PS lots of fans on the case
  7. I spent 1600 and wouldn't spend a cent more. I built a *****in' PC and any extra performance will not even be needed for two years. I know how to run a PC, I'm sure that is a skill that saves me money. I don't worry about viruses.
  8. I wouldn't mess with the sand too much. Just the top layer or small parts at a time.
  9. I would say it's a lot less rain and much more snow. 16.5 inches total precipitation a year in SLC.
  10. I built a new PC for Unreal 3, it plays at full settings and no glitches, but I still play Unreal 2004 more often. I love that game.
  11. PC all the way. I have been forced to use macs before and never saw anything worth switching. I built my PC and don't have problems with Vista.
  12. It didn't look like ich to me in the pictures. Sorry for your loss. I had a new fish bring in junk that spread to all my fish. My only loss was when I tried to treat. I think treatment is stressful and fish selection is important. Nano tanks are tough, QTs are tougher. I have more to say and a better way to explain my thoughts but my battery is going to die so I have to go now.
  13. This is what I love about reef tanks; some many things grow. If the pods are swimming fast then they are probably mysids. If they are tiny, they are copepods. If they are bigger and curled slightly, they are amphipods. If they are flat like, they are isopods. If you do searches you can see pictures of all these.
  14. Yep! Make both drain if you can and then add a return to the back. Sounds like a good idea to me.
  15. My chaeto grows like mad. In the four months I've been in Oregon it has gone from about the size of a softball to the size of about 8 basketballs or more. The chaeto lights are off for 8 hours each day. Before I started moving stuff back to SLC, I had this chaeto in 4 different systems each with a 23 watt standard CF bulb. When I can I like to do RDP lighting but most my systmes fuges are off at night with the tank. I DO NOT use phosphate remover. My phosphates and nitrates stay at zero on any test kit because of the chaeto.
  16. Happens in the day for me. It's good news, they are great to have in your tank.
  17. http://www.utahreefs.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=31578 I avoid treatments and have done well so far.

  19. You should always leave room for the algae to grow or it is doing no good.
  20. Thanks. I moved from SLC just four months ago and now I return. Part of me wishes that I would have found a great job here in Oregon and part of me is happy to move back to SLC. I think my duncan can make the move to SLC so I'll have to take it. I'll be moving in two to three weeks. Wasatch is spelled correctly and WMAS- Wasatch Marine Aquarium Society is a great bunch of people. Thanks to PNWMAS for making my time in Oregon more enjoyable. I'm glad I got a chance to meet many of you.
