  1. I'm with you on that. 4' long 3' deep and 2' tall would be great.
  2. The 150 tall is enough for some types of tangs. One nice thing about tall tanks is you have room for a DSB or even a plenum.
  3. This is my estimate of value on the used market. The tank is worth $20, drilling and overflow $20, plumbing $10, 10 gallon tank $5, setup for sump $7.50, pump $15, extra powerhead $10, sump light $7.50, top light(know this is a 30" fixture on a 24" tank, but works great) new 65watt 10,000K bulb $50, heater $10, $45 for stand, and $30 for powerstrip/timers/and more. $230 in hardware, everything you need. Plus $110 worth of quality live rock, live sand, live water, algae, corals, and/or fish; you pick out what you want. All or nothing, I will not part out and price is firm; $340 for all this. Tank will be cleaned before pickup. For a little extra I can deliver and setup. Rock, sand, coral and fish will look different than pictured; it's up to you to pick out what you want from a different tank.
  4. My BakPak works pretty well. But I have a bigger Ramora that works much better. Sorry I don't know anything about nano skimmers, but I don't think nano tanks need skimmers.
  5. Thanks =) My wife likes this stand. I was thinking about building one out of wood to enclose the sump for reverse lighting and so I could have just a little more room. But it's easier to leave it.
  6. I'm keeping only this 29 gallon because I will be away for 5 months over the summer. I hope it is stable and easy to care for while I am gone. I added and rearranged the rockwork and livestock. I also moved my new light to this tank. It is a 29 gallon tank (30"x12"x18") with a 20 gallon tall for a sump refugium. I drilled the 29 and built the overflow box. It has a Rio 1400 for return and a Koralia 2 for extra circulation. For lighting it has an Odyssea basic 250 watt HQI MH (15000K) with LED nightlights. The refugium has a standard GE 23 watt CF bulb. Chaetomorpha algae is the only filter besides live rock and a thin layer of live sand. The only thing that I wish I could add to that is a deep sand bed (3") of fine sand in at least one the tanks. Maybe I'll add a DSB to the fuge. I'll have to see how it goes as it is. For livestock I have a mix of soft, LPS and SPS corals. There are two ocellaris clownfish that host in xenia. Two derasa clams are on the sand and one jewelbox oyster. And the cleanup crew is snails only, although there might be a hermit or two hiding in there. I might add my two cleaner shrimp. Here are some pictures:
  7. Maybe he expects to frag the zoas and make his money back. If so, he better do it fast, soon purple hornets will be a common zoa.
  8. This thread is the first I've heard of PMD so I can't answer that. But I'll look it up... First info I found says that www.clamsdirect.com suspects a protozoan that is currently being identified and they suggest a 25 minute fresh water dip. Edit- I can't find better info, just that it is being researched- http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=112994
  9. I depends on the fish and how much of a mess you want to make. With corals it is easier to target feed if all water movement is off. Some people just shut off their return because they don't want the food skimmed out and wasted.
  10. You tell me and we'll both know. when I compare pics on zoaid, one day they will look more like eagle eyes and the next more like watermelon. Maybe I'm just not seeing what makes them different. Maybe I need my eyes checked.
  11. I have someone interested in the 20. I'm going to give him a chance to see it and decide. I will let you know if he doesn't take it. The other two are still fully available.
  12. I'm keeping one. I'm selling the rest because I'll be away for the summer, and maybe next summer as well.
  13. It's a sony Cyber-shot dsc-w70, and then it's just a waterproof cover that is for this camera so that all the buttons can be used. But it's only good for down to ten feet deep.
  14. I agree =) It should be automatic when people add to rep and never for post count. Edit: But to be honest, I never consider rep for anything.
  15. Thank you. It was nice to meet you and I really enjoyed checking out your tank. It's a great looking tank. Nice work.
  16. Welcome! I agree with dsoz, after getting a second test to verify levels, add alk to bring the cal down. You don't need cal over 450. If your pH is 7.2, you will want to bring that up. Is your alk reading in ppm? If so, that should be good,, so all I can think is that you have ammonia, CO2 or some other pollutant causing your low pH.
  17. Good point. Buy my fish for sale; All but my tang has been tank raised. My tang would not be happy in less than 60 gallons but more is even better.
  18. I will be driving to Portland tomorrow (Thur 2/5) and might be able to drop off this stuff. Let me know what you want.
