I am having a hard time getting the Tunze salt I like (its on back order through most online dealers), so I am thinking about giving Brightwell NeoMairne salt a try. Does anyone know where to get it locally?

Maybe its just my tank, but I have plenty of zoas/palys growing right up next to the base of many of my SPS and there are no problems.... SPS vs SPS though...that's another story.

Yes, but its what I need to get my new tank up and running! The shipping is going to kill me though with 75lb of rock. The group buy savings kind of make up for that. Normally when I place a large orders with BRS I do a Google search for BRS Group Buys and find another forum running one to tag along on, but this time I figured I would bring the savings to our local club. It was kind of fun organizing it, so I might set one up every 3 months or so..

Thats what I don't like about the BRS reactors...I have never seen one in person, so unless they have a different method of directing the flow through the media I don't see how it can be very efficient...

I never really figured it out, I always assumed roughly 350-400 gallons. I made it REALLY deep to help give the fish a chance against racoons and cats. The last pond I made for them was too shallow and we lost a lot of fish to animals. No fish lost in this pond yet... The koi were added at just a couple inches long. Now they're 14" to 16" long, and VERY fat!

Heres the pond I built for my parents. Its as maintenance free as it gets...feed the fish, and ad top off water. Thats it! For filitration, I used a blue 50g barrel filled with filter material. Water is pumped to the bottom of the barrel, fills the barrel, goes through the filter material, then overflows to the top of the water fall. The filter setup uses biological filtation to break down waist. Its been running with out ANY maintenace for over 5 years. It also helps to have lots of shade over the pond to cut down on algae growth.

I use a Current USA auto feeder. It works great. I left my tank for a full 2 weeks last summer during my vacation, and it worked great. My tank is fully automated though (dosing pumps, Aquacontroller, ATO, chiller, etc...), so that helped a lot.

Yes, call Neptune. It sounds like your temp probe is going bad. They typically start to read high when going bad.
