I quit using salt in a bucket due to the fact that it is hard to mix the salt before using. I got towards the end of a bucket and my Mg went thru the roof - it had all settled towards the bottom 2/3 of the bucket.

I think my wife picked ours up at Costco - it has a full keyboard, nice little unit.

I have been using gettanked for a good 6 months now. Love the high values and the fact that I can add as little or much Ca as needed for each water change.

I'll take a look at the one my wife got tonight. I have found that labeling everything has been a lifesaver a few times, especially when I have to unplug things from my RKE and re-program or do any maintenance on it.

Both RKE and RKL are awesome systems. You would have to pry my RKE out of my cold dead hands

I was thinking about supplimenting my regular coral feeding (Oyster feast) with some reef chili. Anyone tried it, and anyone know who carries it locally? Thanks!

Stay away from Instant ocean if you keep corals. Go with a prooven salt, and there are plenty out there. Tropic marin pro is good, as is Kent. My preference is GetTanked salt. Best levels and consistency I have ever had, but a bit more spendy than everything else.

+1 on elos or salifert. They are all I use anymore!

Thanks for the info Harold. I will probably send in my SID this week - then over the holidays I can spend the time updgrading. Re-programming for all I do witht the RKE takes some time as I utilize a number of it's functions. Great controller no doubt and I'm thinking the new software will certianly make it way better!

Harold, have you updated your SID to 2.0 yet? Looks like that is a requirement. I think we can send them in and they will be upgraded for free.
