  1. I just fragged one of these guys - should be four small frags ready to go in a couple weeks once they are all healed up. PM me if interested.
  2. That's the beauty of IP addresses - they can tell you a lot about where a user comes from
  3. I run mine ~10-10 with the actinics 8:30 - 11:30. My temp flucuates roughly 4 degrees with one fan running. Yesterday actually it hardly changed thanks to the cool breeze coming in the windows I've got two 175W 12Ks.
  4. I've got some of these (older shot) Newer shot I likely won't be from that grouping, but I've got a lot of these guys on easily fragged rock. And some of these. They are on a shell which I think I could break quite easily to give you a few.
  5. I'm in Hillsboro, but work down in Tualitin area...sadly for my wallet, 2 blocks from Waves.
  6. bump! $30? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?
  7. Sadly that article concentrates on Softies when talking about water flow/light :(
  8. I've got a Jebo UV-H13 for sale. 13W - comes with the bulb etc. I've never used it, the guy I got it from said he never did either. The bulb works (I tested it a couple weeks back). I'll sell this baby for $35 or a trade for couple frags of your cool acros ;-)
  9. Or maybe it's from a molt?
  10. my tank goes crazy for the emerald entree. So it's a treat now that they expect cyclopeeze 4x a week. Little buggers.
  11. Very nice! Love the mile high. I doubt #2 is a monti though - see how there seems to be groupings of nodes? I don't think this is the case for Montis. However - I am by no means an expert. I just seem to be leading my tank more and more towards Monti-palooza 2008 and that one doesn't seem to fit into my view of a monti.
  12. You got it guys - I'll post here before I do anything with this guy. I'm making sure there's nori or Sea Veggies in the clip for this guy. Too bad my fuge only has chaeto and one small strand of caldupra (or whatever). Once that grows out more I'll snip it and add to the tank for the Tang.
  13. Hmmm. Well here's the story. A friend of mine was tearing down his tank because he finally got tired of the maintenance - so I inherited his Purple Tang, Coral Beauty and some rock. I fear that my 60G is too small for the tang - he seems to be happy, eating and swimming around but for how long is the question. He's a good size 5" + long.
  14. What does everyone think/know about purple tangs? ie - space requirement, food requirements, etc. Thanks.
  15. Yeah, that was pretty impressive. The attacker looked like a hydrophora - it decimated that other coral.
  16. http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-schedules/series.html?paid=1.7880.30546.13712.1 This is a different series I think, but it has one dedicated to reefs.
  17. I'm sure they'll do more on reefs later - I think it's a 5 part series? I read that in other episodes they have some time lapse shots of reefs growing. That should be neat. You can't say you weren't impressed with the size of that one Table Acro! That thing was giant!
  18. From the makers of Planet Earth I think. It starts tonight at 8pm - make sure to check this out everyone!
  19. My Hippo goes bananas over broccoli. I blanch a floret quickly in water for about a minute to soften it, then clip it to my seaweed clip. He can devour a small floret in about a day of constant nibbling. His little belly stays full while it's in there! That, and Nori as well as some Sea Veggies. I'm considering getting some Tang Heaven from ISPF when i have the need for a clean up crew boost. I should be able to grow it in the fuge quite nicely.
  20. Travis - any chance you can set a couple aside for me? I'm in San Diego until this weekend. I'll also send a PM.
  21. So the other night I decide it's time to move a new frag off my sandbed and onto some rock. I place it on a nice section above my clowns preferred anemone. One she caught site of it, she poked her nose onto a branch and pushed it off the ledge! I moved it back and stabilized it a little better, and this time she tackled it from a different angle to move it! So I gave in and put the frag elsewhere. Then last night I mounted a monti cap to a piece of branch that is behind the anemone, not that close. And guess who decides she doesn't like the monti there. Yup, that crazy clown. She took about four attempts to bulldoze the frag off, but the glue held up and she gave in. TOo funny. Do your clowns act this finicky about their home decorations? It's like I messed with her fung shui or something. (nutty)
  22. the only seeding I did was a bag of chaeto. And they are literally on every spec of chaeto, and all of the chunk of rock I have in there. I too like having lots - the more biodiversity I can have the better IMO.
  23. So I've got a nice collection of amphipods (sp?) growing in my hang on fuge. But - I don't really see how they'd be dumb enough to wander over to the overflow and the get swept to the display. How i can encourage their demise? Transfer small pieces of rubble back and forth? Shake the chaeto in the display once in a while? Also, I notice less copepods than amphi's in there. Would that just be me not noticing, or is that likely? I dose phyto once a week or so to feed the little bastards (or at least think that's what i'm doing).
