  1. Have you tried ogo cuelerpa, grassileria on both?
  2. Have you tried mixing 2 salts to get the best of both worlds? You know 1/2 of this and half of that, might come up with a perfect ( or atleast a very good combo)... just a thought.
  3. I'm using 2 #4's in my 210 on either side. and 2 mj1200's between the overflows face to face. Very good flow throughout for very low wattage.
  4. Does anyone know how to get rid of the envasive white sponge found commonly on Star polyps? It overgrows the polyps quite rapidly, I've tried setting them out for 15-20 minutes, but that don't seem to help.DOH! Thanks
  5. Have you ever felt any slight shock while in the tank? Sometimes the twisted body can be cuased by stray voltage. If so, try adding a grounding probe.
  6. Is the meeting open to all, or for club members only? John
  7. Holly could be right, but either way I would contain it until your sure, i've seen a 7" polyp colony disapear in under 48 hours. If you have polyps take an eye loop or a magnifying glass to see if there are any more. The bad ones will have a greenish tint to them.
  8. Pretty sure it's a zoo eater, dip your zoo's in Lugols solution or TMPCC. Doesn't seem to work on the eggs though so treat asap!
  9. Don't get frustrated! I've been doing salt/reef for 20 years and there is always some one the that makes you feel ignorant. It's a continuous learning experience.. Just blow off the negative. And Female has nothing to do with it, they know just as much as their counterparts but don't have a problem asking more questions..
  10. I'm interested. PM Sent.
  11. Dang! Wish I would have known in time, just did a round trip to Vancouver today... Oh well DOH!
  12. A while back I posted a pic of a strange worm, it looked just like that one when I disturbed it, but below is a close up. i wouldn't swear to it, but he doesn't seem to bother nothing. Then again he's in a 10g hex with just a few softies and and polyps. Either way looks like your shrimps is taking care of it
  13. Yep, Sediment filter, then carbon block then the 2 membranes. Not sure how old the pipes are, but pretty sure over 10 years old
  14. First Initial, last name without the E's. Hard to believe how hard it is to use your own name on the internet.
  15. Just one; 90 gal, surfline with fish, softies & LPS
  16. I actually gave the city one of the membranes for testing. But then again, they want to know whats clogging it so they know what to test for? Duh!
  17. I recently purchased a small brand new commercial RO system 500 gal per day. After about 6-7 hours of running time the membranes clogged up. I sent them back to the Mfg. and they could not recognize the substance on them. They said it felt a bit like a gel hand sanitizer?(scratch) Well they sent me new membranes, so before installing I ran the water for about 2 hours to flush the pipes, then ran the back flush on the system for another hour. Started the system up and ran great for about 6-7 hours and same thing happened. I called the city of Redmond ( they are investigeting now), but they say the ONLY thing they add to the water is chlorine and don't get my hopes up for them finding anything. I wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience or any suggestions on what to look, test for. The system is located downtown Redmond.... city water. Thanks, John
  18. I just read this, thought it was relevent to this thread. http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070105/sc_afp/norwayenvironmentfishfarm_070105150440
  19. I don't have any xenia, but I do have some ANTHELIA your welcome to some.
  20. I spent about 2 hours looking through the list before giving up ( probablly about 20%) I may shoot them a pic like you said. He in a 10 allon hex on my desk so I get to watch it alot and have not noticed him bothering anything yet. Not much in there that wouldn't recover fast, polyps and softies. Will be watching though.(scary)
  21. I have high phospates when i use my tap water. Hair algae grows quick(exspecially in my 10g), but it never seems to affect the corals. If you have 96watts on a 10 or 20 gal, whats the temp?
