  1. Roger, at what kind of price do you think we could buy one for the club.
  2. Welcome, can't wait to see your tank pic's.
  3. Where are the pic's Ron? Can't wait to see baby !!!
  4. We aren't much help are we Austin. There is always alot of talk about what is this club about and who are we going to donate to, and who we are helping teach the hobby to.I think purchasing something like par/lux meter help's every member who wants to use it conserve and propagate corals better.I think with newer member's or setup of a new tank this tool would really help determine the best light's, the best area to place something , and so on. Something that this club is about.
  5. I would think that maybe this would be a nice item for the club to buy. Keep it like the club library. I would be willing to put up like $10-20, if we could get 20 people to pitch in.( not sure how much they are). I think that this is something that most of the club members could use and if we decied to do any future club related reef research this might come in handy. Just an Idea.
  6. If it dosen't work with Izzy I have a new one you can use Ron.
  7. Do the sponges, if that is what they are reproduce that fast. I went from none a month ago to about a hundred small ones now.
  8. I was looking closely in my sump and found there is some kind of alge, bacteria, sponge growing all over. I think it came in on some LR rubble I put in there from about a month ago. I don't have any light's on the sump . Any idea's on what it is? How to kill it? It really is spreading fast and starting to cover my pumps.
  9. Welcome !!! Enjoy the site Jon
  10. A good fan, you shouldn't even be able to hear. Nature's way of cooling. My vote is many fan's: Price, look's, power consumtion. Auto top off, eliminate any work of refilling lost water and fairly inexpensive. I think that adding water regularly helps stabilize the tank. If you add the fans you wouln't have mold because there is no stale, old, moist, air in there . The fans keep the air dryer than with no fans.
  11. I would go with the 4, I'm not sure you would see the results that you wanted with the 3.
  12. Has anyone seen this site. Nice idea if you could get the funds to build it. http://www.scubaquarium.com/index.php It really dosen't say if there is any progress being made, makes me wonder if it will ever open.

    Clown hell

Try feeding out of a syringe. A little brine shrimp . slowly get her used to it and she will realize it means food. Gradually start feeding her just by bearly holding the tip of the syringe at the top of the tank. Then when you feed swipe with the net. I have trained most of my fish to do this and even get the clowns to eat out of a net with food in it.
  14. Trying to find somthing on RC ........... Immmppossssiiiible
  15. I got them at marine depot. I ordered them last Thur.( $27.00 & $34.00) when I saw that MD had them for sale. But by friday they had raised the prices to what F&S is now.It looks like most venders have raised there orginal prices or you have to wait for them ,because they are back ordered. Waves ordered some , Joel may even have them in stock by now. I would have bought from him but he didn't have them and I was very impatient.
  16. Quality, seem's OK. I think for the basket shaped cover I wouldn't want to drop it on the hard floor, but overall not to bad for the price. As far as the size, I was impressed with how small the #1 is but the # 2 is quiet a bit bigger. My tank is a 28 hex so they do look larger in my tank then they will in most of your guy's tanks. I will say that " AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED SIZE ISN'T IMPORTANT " If i have a couple of MJ in there they maybe smaller but you still can see them . To me either you have a closed loop and it look's great or you deal with pumps in there. They are much more pleasing to the eye's than what is out there now. Two things I have already noticed. 1st : The flow dosen't come out evenly. You would think a nice even flow but it seems to be more flow on one side. (No big deal) 2nd : The #1 has less flow than I thought it would( not quiet enough for my tank) but the #2 seems to have at least twice the flow of the #1( almost to much for my tank). First day impression a 7 out of 10 One other note: It dosen't say anything about not putting it on a wavemaker in the manual. I e-mail the rep and he said no wavemaker. Just thought that was interesting
  17. Got my new hydors Wed. and am very happy with the way they are working.Just thought I would show some pics.

  20. IT WAS GREAT . WHO NEW I WAS DOING EVERYTHING WRONG !!!!
  21. I think a swapmeet would be great were the club could charge a few bucks at the door or every body donate 20% towards a cause.
