  1. If you dont find something before I move up they have standard 24x24x24 glass tanks here for sale for around $150 bucks. Only problem is they arent drilled but arent tempered either. they are made by someone out of LA who makes all different sizes of tanks. lots of locals here have tanks made by this guys company. IF you are interested and dont find another option I would be willing to put one in my Uhaul for you and drop it off on my way thru. always an option.
  2. here in vegas i thought it was in june. b/c it was before my wife had gotten moved here and she moved here july 4th. dunno......will have to keep my eyes open.
  3. Anyone know when petco is having thier annual $1 a gallon for standard AGA tanks sale? last year it was around this time and I need a new sump! any petco employees in our midst?
  4. wait a bit on the 40 breeder. petco runs a $1 a gallon sale every summer (usually June) and you can get the 40 breeder for $40 bucks. I got one last year and the year before. unfortunately never set eitehr of them up....just sold em later. lol
  5. drilling back. I dont want to mess with the bottom. thanks for the warning tho. It looks to be 1/2" glass so 4 or 5 holes in the back shouldnt be a problem. lol.
  6. thanks for that info. i still hadnt found any info on the exact tank. I dont pick it up for a few days. Now i gotta get to work planning the drilling, sump, CL, etc...... plus gonna build a new stand.
  7. I dont want to hijack anyones thread but i have a question...... I just bought a 72" long tank I want to light with MH AND T-5's. my question is I wanted most of the light to come from the T'5's due to the heat but still want shimmer. The tank has 2 crossbraces and so If I take and put a 175w MH over center opening and 2 24" 8 bulb T-5's over other two openings will I get bost of both worlds or am I just dreaming?
  8. I ma getting ready to move from Las Vegas to Albany area in a month or so and I know your fears and anxieties first hand! I am planning on getting a big Coleman Xtreme cooler (the ones that are extra insulated) and getting power inverter to keep a koralia and a heater going in the cooler. the corals I am going to take clear plastic containers like you get from a deli at a supermarket and hole punching tons of holes for flow and putting the corals in there to keep them from getting smashed. The cooler I looked at had a divider that would keep half the cooler seperated from the other so I could put my LR on one side and the corals and fish on the other to prevent anytrhing getting squished. Hope any of these ideas helps!
  9. I personally like the T-5 Idea. My new 135 will have T-5's. Im looking at doing two sets of six or eight 36" bulbs since its a 72" long tank. might be too much light tho. and money lol. good luck with your build.
  10. yep. gonna build a new stand before i leave here most likely. and for some reason used equipment seems to be cheaper here as well so im going to start gathering up misc. stuff such as skimmer , sump, etc...... before I move.
  11. I think it IS a 135. thanks for the input John. i will have to double check on center bracing material.
  12. it actually has 2 center braces if i remember correctly. I am not actually picking it up until next friday because its currently running as a FW tank. owner assures me no copper treatments used in tank.
  13. is 150 a pretty good deal for a 125? no chips or scratches anywhere. it has the standard clear silicone on the inside but the outside vertical seams have some sort of black trim as well. dunno if that helps with ID purposes.
  14. just picked up a used tank. I think its a 130 gallon. 72" long, 25" tall, and 18" b-f. anyone have any idea who makes a 130 gallon? Its 2 years old (or so im told ) and in great shape. picked it up with stand for 150 bucks so I couldnt pass it up. all help is appreciated!
  15. dangit.....why do all the big tanks come up for sale for smokin deals 2 months before i move back to oregon?
  16. glad someone corrected my earlier advice. little early for me this AM so i wrote crocea and its not what I meant. hope he makes it ok.
  17. is that just a standard orange monti cap in that pic? I have a green with purple rim and I wish mine plated in that configuration.
  18. If the clam shed the tissue on his own (very likely) then he was just trying to find a happier spot to sit. Make sure he is right side up in the sandbed and keep an eye on him for a few days. Because you said his mantle was extended like normal and he was normal color makes me believe this is the casee and he was just "relocating". If the mantle starts seperating from the shell or he stops opening then you may have a dying clam on your hands. only time will tell. what type of clam is it? If its a crocea they prefer the sand anyhow. I had mine on a small rock shelf and he did the same thing twice and ended up upside down or sidewys in the sand both times before i did a little asking around and found out they generally prefer the sandbed. dunno why. HTH.
  19. if this was 3 months from now i would buy it today. but I am not moving back to oregon til august. if you still have it then (doubtful) then i want it lol!

  22. interested in the 24" teklight. any chance of shipping to 89130? any bulbs with it? how old?
  23. yep...couldnt pass it up. comes with 80lbs of rock as well. had other plans for my tax rebate but what the heck...it cant wait lol.
