400wt HQI PFO way a ton. if not hqu, don't run radium's I'm running radium's(20k) on electronic 400wt sunlight supply ballasts. I'm probably going back to 15K XM bulbs. I really like them from several i've used. Just don't buy cheep bulbs. Remember, light IS food.

I question the kit. Test with a calibrated hannah or pinpoint. I think your chasing it to hard. ANY TIME ya get a new kit for any of the tests it's good to double check the same water,,,IE Glass jar, same batch, for an average. Get what you can into anothers tank, frag some still living to a couple of different members to at least keep the stock going till all is settled down. Good Luck. Keep us updated.

This is how I do it. with a maxi-jet. .

If using a bag . Don't over fill it. The center won't get flow. Personally I don't like bags. One big purpose of carbon it to strip,(polish) capture ultra file organics and particles from the water column. If you remove the bag you will see a lot of particles falling off, right back into the system. If your going to use the bag method then your really just using it for chemical absorbing. .
