  1. 75 gallon tank Thanks. Yep, it's the same blue tang Calvin. He is doing great. He definitely is the boss of the tank. When I first got the yellow tang the blue started picking on him but now they get along well. Thanks again
  2. Been a while since I posted but here are some updates on my 75 gallon tank. You can check out my original build thread under the nube forum. 75 gallon with 4 65watt power compacts, 2 55 watt T5s and 20 gallon sumpfugium with skimmer. It's a room devider so viewable from 3 sides. Thanks again to all those who helped me get started. It's been fun. Here are some pics.
  3. Re: New additions I also added my first fish. These 2 clowns came from the clownhouse and Dave. They are doing great and are enjoying being the only 2 fish in a 75 gallon. They haven't met up with the RBTA yet but hopefully they will down the road. Thanks Dave!
  4. Thank you Andy for the beautiful RBTA. It is doing very well in it's new home and has stayed where I originally placed it. Thanks to Calvin for the T5 fixture I keep him under. Really makes the tank look a lot brighter.
  5. Re: New to this site and the hobby. Welcome Bryan!
  6. Re: Berghia Nudibranchs Hey mike, One idea might be a peppermint shrimp. I got mine from Nick at RC and he knows how to get the aptasia eating ones (he said they are from a specific region but I don't remember where). I got mine from him and it took out the aptasia and is able to survive without it. It's also entertaining to watch. Mike
  7. Re: Finally showing off my tank Wow mike, you've been busy! Tank looks great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Re: Cool new light and orbital defense plasma cannon Cool article Andy! I'd like to get me one of them someday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Re: WTB B.T.A Thanks J. I think I'll give it a try. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. It is confusing. I am new to the hobby and have never kept an anemone but would like to in the future. I have been trying to figure out if my 75 gallon with 4 65 watt PC would be a good amount of light for a RBTA. As I mentioned, I have talked to 2 people with similar setups who have had BTAs thrive in this environment. The website I linked has several similar examples with VHOs. She suggests that with tall rock formations in your tank the BTA can move up until it finds it's desired intensity. But again, I've never tried this myself. Anyone out there with success or failure of BTAs under PC or VHOs they would care to share?
  11. Good questions. I have had similar ones myself. I have actually talked to a few people who have had great success with BTAs without keeping them under metal halides. In fact, I have found a great site that is all about BTAs and says they might prefer VHOs as initailly MHs are too bright, but with time the BTA can adapt to the higher intensity. Here is the site: http://www.karensroseanemones.com She answers pretty much any question you can think of with BTAs. Jgf86123, have you tried keeping BTAs under lighting that wasn't MH in the past and had a bad experience? I have heard similar statements about them only doing well with MHs and wonder why there is so much conflicting information about them out there.
  12. Re: Tapatalk for Android/iPhone/Crackberry Access Just downloaded the 2.99 version for the iPhone and I like it a lot. I tried the free read only version first, liked it and then upgraded since i figure Ill use it a lot. Much easier to view threads and pics. Haven't tried to post any pics through it yet but it sounds like you can do it without photobucket. Mike Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. That's funny, I made the same mistake. I thought that was his wife too, but it is actually his girlfriend. Poor Mike, we keep putting pressure on him to seal the deal.
  14. Thanks for the video,CA2OR. That macro lens makes a big difference. I don't have any tips but appreciate you sharing yours.

    School Fish

Thanks for your help eveyone. After all the advice Im leaning towards the Fiji (blue-green) chromis. Sounds like they travel in a school, are inexpensive, cool looking, not too aggressive, stay smallish, are easy to care for and, as an added bonus, might "fertilize" your coral. Thanks again for the advice and thanks to the PNWMAS site managers for making discussions like this possible. Mike
