  1. Does anyone have experiance feeding these? I bought a small bottle from Waves this week and none of my fish will eat them. Everything I have read about this stuff says fish go crazy for it. I've got a clown, fang blenny, flasher wrasse, and leapord wrasse and none of them will touch the stuff. Maybe I just have picky fish.
  2. I've dealt with cyano in the past and had a pretty similar experiance as impur. I battled it for months, using phosban, heavy skimming, siphoning, and frequent water changes. It was a long process but i finally beat it. No fish for several months and a couple chemi-clean treatments were what finally made the difference. I have had a few spots in another tank and 2-3 days without light made it disappear. You should be able to get rid of the cyano, it just takes patience and excellent husbandry.
  3. In my 30 cube i've got a 6025 and 2 Koralia #2s and i am pretty happy with the amount of flow. I have the 6025 and a #2 on the back wall pointed to the opposite corners. The other #2 is on the side aimed across the back. No major dead spots and the sand stays in place.
  4. That is some impressive growth and the tank is looking great. You should but up some shots of the 40 breeder too.
  5. You might take a look at the Iwasaki 15K. Its just a little blue but has huge par. I think with actinic suplements it would look prettty good.
  6. For DE bulbs, the opposite is actually true. HQI ballest burn the bulbs significantly bighter but use more energy and produce much more heat. Electronic ballests are nice because they can run any type of bulb (pulse start, probe start, HQI).
  7. Just to clarify, 24" T5 bulbs are 24w. You sure the fixture isn't 36" long since 39w T5s are 36" long? Either way thats a good deal on a nice fixture.
  8. I got a small roll of bird/deer netting at Lowes in the outdoor gardening section. Its the same as the pond netting and so far has done a great job keeping my flasher wrasse from jumping.
  9. You might get some ideas from this site too, especially for light mods http://www.nanocustoms.com/

    Phosban

Here is another place with pretty good prices http://www.twopartsolution.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=41_39
  11. Sorry, I sold the fish today. Thanks for the interest.
  12. I've had this wrasse for around 3 months in my 30 cube. I did some research and I think it is either a female Solon Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus solorensis) or a Blue Sided Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus cyanopleura). I would like to get $25 for it. It is 3"+ and probably a little too big for my tank. I’m selling it because i have had algae problems recently and it doesn’t get along very well with my longnose hawk. I am home for thanksgiving break and the wrasse is currently in my parent’s sump. If possible I would like to sell it before I go back to school next weekend. I am in Vancouver but would be willing to meet somewhere if necessary.
  13. Does anyone know were to get replacement parts for these? I accidently broke the ceramic shaft on my #2 but cant find replacements anywhere.
  14. I recently set up a new tank and need to sell my old nano. Includes tank, stand, all equipment, and livestock. I'm asking $120. If this is too much please make an offer. After working on the new tank and being away at school for the last 2 weeks the tank has been neglected and is not looking its best but its a nice setup. Here are the specifics. 10-gallon tank w/10lbs of live rock connected to a 6 gal diy refugium. Lighting is an 80w current orbit fixture. Refugium is fed by mj 1200 and there is a mj 600 in the tank. The refugium has sand, rubble, cheato, and has room for a small skimer (I used an Aqua C Urchin). The tank also has an autotop off. Corals include Greep Star polyps, 3 kinds of zoanthids, neon green candy canes, torch coral, pulsing xenia, green sinilaria, purple mushroom, red rhodactis mushroom. Heres a link to what the tank used to look like. http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4437 current pics
  15. Thanks for the compliments guys. Im def happy with the lumanmax but this is my first MH setup so I don't really have anything to compare to. Luckily I was able to get the lumanmax on sale for $100. I dont think i would have went with this light setup if it wasnt for the sale. I was debating between this and a Sunpod (which would have been cheaper) and an extra $50 would have pushed me the other way.
  16. Spectra - Yeah its def looking better than it was. Im moving it back this weekend. Should be interesting. Impur - Ha Ha. Im not too optimistic about this season. But believe it or not WSU is the #2 pac10 team in wins since 2001. USC is #1.
  17. Thanks for the compliments. I go to WSU.
  18. People have been posting about Oceanic cubes lately so i figured i would share some pics of mine. I've had the tank for a while and finally set it up after a lot of research and planning. I am going to have this tank with me at college so the small footprint of the cube is really nice. I transfered everything over from my 10gal into the new tank and have had it up and running a couple months now and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Tank specs: Oceanic 30 cube and stand Custom acyilic sump AquaC Urchin skimmer Tunze nanostream 6025 Lumanmax 3 pendant with 150w phoenix and ARO ballast. Livestock: My only fish right now is a Fang Blenny. Corals include Frogspawn, hammer, acans, chalices, blasto, candy cane, green toadstool, yellow fiji leather, red brain, hydnophora.
  19. If you decide to part it out I'd be interested in the skimmer
