  1. This is still availible. Asking $450 now
  2. Sorry to hear about your RO, that sucks! I wish I could help you out, but selling the RO really has to come after the tank gets sold. And a couple people have already called dibs on it anyway.
  3. The only thing sold are the Urchin and SCWD. Everything else is still available The RO/DI will have to wait until the 40g tank in my other ad sells. I want to still be able to do water changes in case the tank takes awhile to sell. Saltfinsax is first in line for the RO/DI when it does

  6. I’m posting this ad for my parents, who have decided they want to get out of the hobby. The tank has been running for several years and is very well established and stable. With the oversized skimmer, refugium, and phosphate reactor it’s been a very low maintenance, trouble free system. At this time they are not willing to part out anything, and want to sell this as a complete package with all the livestock. The tank is located in Hockinson, WA. If interested, contact me and I will get you my parents info. Asking $450 for everything. Equipment includes: 40 gallon breeder display tank Very nice black pine stand 29gal sump/refugium “Herbie Method” drain setup Octopus Extreme 160 skimmer http://www.aquacave.com/reef-octopus-extreme-160-br-protein-skimmer-br-by-coralvue-2199.html 36” Current USA Current Sundial T-5 - 4 ATI bulbs w/7months of use http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=3578+3733+13822+18486&pcatid=18486 Phosphate reactor and pump Oceanrunner 2500 (650gph) return pump 2x Hydor Koralia #3 powerheads 2x 150w heaters Refugium light Auto topoff w/float switch and airlift pump Mag Float DJ powerstrip/switchboard Livestock: Green Open Brain Neon green Sinularia Awesome Yellow Fiji Leather Green trumpet coral Green Toadstool leather Neon Green Hammer Green w/purple tip Frogspawn Green Star Polyps Small Colt Coral 2x Fighting Conch 2? 7. This link has some good info on raising Banggais. Thanks for sharing the pics and good luck with the little guys http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=1543288
  8. Dsoz Thanks for the generous offer but Oregon City is a little too far for me. Someone in the Vancouver area must have some cheato that needs pruning
  9. I was hoping someone in the Vancouver area could spare a small clump of Cheato. Don't really have any frags available to trade but am willing to pay a fair price for the Cheato. LMK if you have any. Thanks
  10. In that case you will def be find. Even if all the weight was on a single joist you it would be ok especially since its at a wall
  11. Really depends on the size if the tank. What size is it? I haven't tried it but I don't think a studfinder will work thru the plywood. You may want to just climb under and take a look. You can see what direction the joists run and if they are dimensioned lumber or an engineered wood product. Ideally you want the tank to run perpendicular to the flood joists so the load is spread to mutliple joists
  12. The pipe fish are sold. Thanks Mike. Glad the pipes could go to a fellow Coug. You should post some pics when they get settled in
  13. I thought the pipes were sold and held them for a couple weeks for someone only to have them flake out. So the pipes are back up for sale. If they don't sell in the next couple days my parents will just keep them
  14. Hey everyone sorry for the confusion. When I posted this I forgot that I changed my location from Vancouver to Kirkland. I recently moved up north but my parents, and the pipefish, are in Brush Prairie, WA (just NE of Vancouver) and not Kirkland. Much closer for those of you in OR. Sorry again DOH!
  15. defigart - They are definitely a male-female pair, the males have small ridges on their snout and the females don't. Also, two males won't tolerate each other even in a large tank Nyles and Siskou - They are rare and really cool little fish. If you are interested, you might see if your LFS can get a pair. I got these from SWF a while ago.
  16. My parents are swapping out all the rock in their tank for cooked rock and are temporarily breaking it down. I'm helping then do the transfer and we decided to put their pair of Bluestripe Pipes up FS. For those that don't know about blustripes they are flagfin pipes that do great in reeftanks and handle highflow no problem. They are awesome fish and its really interesting watching them interact. They voraciously eat full sized mysis, cylopeeze, and arctipods. My parents don't feed frozen very much and with the new rock in the tank they may not have enough pods. So they are up FS. I would like to get $50 for the pair but am open to offers, especially if they are going to a good home. I don't have a recent picture but here is an older one. They are larger know but you get the idea.
  17. For that size tank I also think T5s are the best option and they give you a lot of flexibility of color temp and par with diff bulb choices. But I wouldn't say the electricity savings would be huge. 6 39w T5 bulbs are 234w total, which really isn't significantly less than a 250w halide.
  18. I just moved up North and have been pretty dissapointed with the fish stores up here. Barrier Reef is Renton has a great selection and semi-reasonable prices but other than that I wouldn't say stores are worth seeing. But if you want to see a few there is also Saltwater City in Bellevue and Bue Seirra in Issaquah. Reefers in the Portland area really are lucky to have the number and quality of stores they do.
  19. Yea Scott I saw your setup and absolutely loved it. That's one of the main reasons I started thinking about the 20" height. I haven't thought too much about how tall the stand will be but I would like to go on the taller side. I really the look of the Elos stands and am thinking of doing something similar. I would like to have one of your steel stands but i'm on a finite budget so a diy wood stand is looking good. It is def not cheap to live up here so this will be a basic settup for awhile (sad). Eventually I would like to get a couple vortecs but for now I'm going with 2 modded Tunze 6025 and 2 Koralia #2s. That could change but its the plan for now
