  1. I selling my 10g nano so i can set up a 30cube. The tank is complete minus some of the coral in the tank and the skimmer. Includes stand, light, and autotop off system. $200 Specifics of the tank 10-gallon tank w/10lbs of live rock connected to a 6 gal diy refugium sitting behind the tank. Lighting is an 80w Current USA Orbit fixture with 4 month old bulbs. Refugium is fed by mj 1200, the tank also has a mj 600 for flow. Refugium is very nice, made from 1/4" cast acrylic with bubble free seams. Corals included are GSP, pulsing xenia, green candy canes, green sinularia, green tipped torch, and several types of zoas. This tank setup is a really nice turn key nano. With this light you can easily keep anything short of SPS and high light clams. The refugium has room for a skimmer (i have a Remora in it) and the extra water volume really helps the stability of the tank. I kept three fish in the tank with no algae problems. Weekly 1gal water changes are really all the maintance that is required. During the year i was away from the tank for several weeks at a time without any problems. It is simple and pretty much automated. Here are some pics an older pic and here is a link to a thread about the tank http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4437
  2. Id go with the sunpaq bulbs. Both the actinic and daylight bulbs come in dual spectrums. 10000/6700k daylight and 420/460nm actinic as well as single spectrum bulbs. More color choices and more complete spectrum. IMO the sunpaq bulbs will give you a better looking tank.
  3. Cant help you out with the LEDs but I think it looks pretty good without supplementation. What ballast are you running? What are you looking to accomplish with the supplements bluer color or more florescence? Did you run reflectors on the VHOs? Not sure about this but in seems like the T5 with their parabolic reflectors would focus the light into the tank better.
  4. I’ve had it for over six months and its been a great fish. Would make a nice centerpiece fish for a nano or be happy in a non-aggressive tank. I hate to give it up but im upgrading tanks and this fish doesn't fit in with the theme of the new tank. Looking to get $50 for it. I need the money but I would possibly trade for some nice LPS Acan, Echino/chalice, etc., or maybe a small crocea clam. I will also be selling the tank soon. Here the link to the tank. http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4437
  5. I am still interested in some rock. How big are the pieces? Do you have any pics or the rock or your tank when it was set up? Thanks.
  6. Thanks for the input. Reef geek, i really like your pendant set up the the new tank. I would do something similar if i went with the luman max but with round tube and the ability to rotate the arm away from the tank. Any reason why you would go with the luman max? Yea dsoz i agree, APs look pretty nice.
  7. Im setting up a new tank and cant decide on which light to get. Tank is an Oceanic 30cube 20x18x20 and will be stocked with mostly LPS, but hopefully a clam and maybe a few SPS. Simplicity is important because i move my tank back and forth from school once a year. The first options i'm considering is a Luman Max pendant w/phoenix 14k and ARO150/175w ballast. The second is a 150w Sunpod. I know the luman max would be brighter but it has no lunar light and needs to be hung (i dont want to hang it from the ceiling, but ive got some ideas). I also like that i can use it on a future tank. The sunpod is pretty much plug in play but its not as bright and i don't really like the stock bulb. I cant decide! What would you do? . option 1 http://www.reefgeek.com/lighting/Metal_Halide/Sunlight_Supply/Reflectors/Lumen_Max_3_HQI_Reflector_(150W)_by_Sunlight_Supply option 2 http://www.marineandreef.com/shoppro/metal_SunPod.htm
  8. More pics These guys are tuff to get a good pic of
  9. I’ve been a member of this site for a while but don’t post much so I thought id share some pics of my tank. I had it at school with me but brought it back home for the summer. The tanks been up for nearly a year and is doing well. Tank specifics: 10-gallon tank w/10lbs of live rock connected to a 6 gal diy refugium sitting on an oceanic 30-cube stand. Lighting is an 80w current orbit fixture. Refugium is fed by mj 1200, mj 600 or 900 for flow. The refugium has sand, rubble, cheato, and also holds an aquac urchin skimmer. Fish: Yasha haze goby, 2 blue-stripe pipes. Before the pipes I had a clown but have since moved it to a different tank. Coral: Frogspawn, torch, hammer, blastos, acans, candy canes, hydnophora, several zoas, neon green toadstool, yellow fiji leather, and red mushrooms. Inverts: Various snails, hermits, and a porcelain crab. These Pics were taken a week or 2 after moving my tank back home.
  10. Do any of the local stores sell these or have them in stock? Im looking at the 150w luman max 3.
  11. They have a really nice selection of coral and fish. They were extremely helpful and gave me a good deal. If you haven't been there, Rose City Aquarium is worth checking out. I'll definatly shop there again.
  12. Looks good so far. What pendant are you going to use and why are you going with 3? How are you going to arrange them?
  13. Thats a good deal but im really just looking for a ballast.
  14. I just got home from school for the summer and am hoping to upgrade from my 10gal to a 30 cube. Im looking for a affordable 150w electronic ballast. LMK if you have anything. Thanks.
  15. What type of seahorses are they and how much were they? Thanks.
  16. I looking for just the tank and maybe the stand LMK if you have one that you aren't using. Thanks.
