  1. I run carbon 24/7 and do a small water change every week about 10 gallons. And a large change every 6 to 8 weeks. I feed very heavy though. So I long answer is yes.
  2. must be something in the water...mine split yesterday as well. RBTAS Are great until they wonder.
  3. I have a 55 gallon barrel I use for salt mix, also about 5 or 6 buckets with lids. Also a 40 gallon breeder. I live in Hillsboro but I have time tommorrow to meet in Portland area around noonish. Shoot me a PM if that could help.....
  4. I habe the same issues with any heater 500 watt or above. I have dedicayed controllers and run multiple heaters. My sump is in the garage. Without heaters my tank will hiy the 60 's at night. I habe begun shoping getting ready for winter...
  5. I've got a few you could use if you only ned to do a few holes. It wa sthe cheapos from ebay. I will be around during the day on Thursday and I live in Hillsboro. Shoot me a message if I can help....
  6. I would gladly try it...i am just not convinced it will make a difference. That is why I quit looking. Iat one time there was also an ossie with their bucket. It tended to lose it's seal durong shipping and salt was clumpy. I assume they overcame that problem. I know Westside could get it in butthe shipping made it expensive.
  7. I was interested in Seachem aquavitro a few months back. After researching online, talking to local shops, phone calls to Seahem and posts on other forums I decided against it. Seachem tests each batch to verify that each batch has what is on each label. However, I decided it was not worth the price. There are too many other salt mixes that have what is needed for a reef tank. Obviously just my opinion. If a shop had it on the shelf I might try it but I was not gonna go out of my way for it. If you do try I would be curious to see if you notice a difference. The local shops I spoke with said the bucket would be about $95.00.

  12. Agree as stated by others above, I don't think they hurt anything. They have never bothered my clams, zoos, sps, etc.. Fun to watch adds diversity. Alot of peopl edo notlike and I am unsure why.. Very cool trap though.
  13. I have many in my system. They have never hurt anything. But I do enjoy watching my cleaner shrimp and sally light foot hunt them down. I was very surprised last night when I saw my hippo tang chowing down on them as well. It was fun to watch....
  14. I could use some nudis as well....trip to Boise could be cool....
  15. I have plenty of live rock various shapes sizes from rubble upto some 12"x12" and a few larger pieces as well. What you looking for? I'm in Hillsboro off Baseline, very close to Westside Aquatics....
  16. Never heard of them. Tim had mentioned something awhile back that someone was in his shop talking about diy rock and selling/non-profit etc. Maybe check in with him..
  17. All players above are great individuals. They were successfull. But I think the superbowl is about team achievement. Not saying that teams / people do not perform well and do great things all season, and the game might be boring but they were the best team that season. They did what no other teams were able to do that year. So when comparing team success, yes superbowl is what matters. Unless the Cowgirls win then somehow another team got screwed and things were messed up and all logic above is discarded and irrelevent....... Because they stink. (Sorry, still don't do smilies and stuff to make post look good, insert smile face here...)
  18. The superbowl is all that matters, you are not remembered for a good season if you don't get the ring at the end. It is a playoff system, so the the debate of who deserves to be in the game is over. That is one thing that is great about the NFL (although I have many issues with it) You win you keep playing.......No debates....Cowboys will never catch up to Pittsburg...We are not done yet.....and yes Dallas stinks...
  19. Lenny actually filed to have his name legally changed to Tressel....He also turned from yellow to scarlet color. Most beautiful fish I have ever seen...He hated his old yellow color...Hmmmm. (not creative with colors and fonts and smilies. I can barely type)
  20. The clown goby is as happy and blessed as he had ever been.....He greatly appreciates the scarlet and grey surroundings. After knowing your football prefernces I now consider it a rescue not a gift.....I usually have steered clear of football posts but I have come out of the closet and even learned how to add an avatar in my sig....Here goes the neighborhood. I am very popular on my block with a buckeye flag and to make it better, yes I am also a pittsburg fan. My home has been vandalized many times in the past ten years since we moved out here. But always in good fun from the neighbors.
  21. My hippo is out all the time....Of course has her favorite spot in the rock and goes there immediately if any action in the tank. With a five year old also was named the dreaded Dori.
  22. Hate to see summer go but love football season can't wait for games to begin... And agree that the cowgirls blow....
  23. Welcome..Choosing lighting is never fun. I might suggests looking at the different tank threads on here and see what others are using and how their results. There are so many choices out there. Just keep taking your time and you can also come across some good deals used. Many of the shops have great dealsd on used equipment as well as the boards. Have fun planning your set-up.
  24. really like the DW zoas, but all look great. Nice colors...
  25. saddle tee off cold side of hot water tank for over six years no problems for me....That being said it is always nice to have work done by a pro.. Goodluck.
