  1. 29g and sump are sold, thanks Matt. Still have the aquapod. Come on guys, I need some help here.
  2. When in doubt, lick it and see what happens. Never know, you may get lucky.
  3. Price drop to $400 on the system.
  4. Pics of the sump... The 29g is (30" L x 12" W x 18" H) with the back painted black. It is in fine condition. I need to get this stuff moved so if there is anything you want parted out please let me know, I'll sell it off in bits or as a whole. I also have an RO/DI water purifier.
  5. Still have my 24g Aquapod with 150w MH. Lots of interest each time, but I haven't had anyone follow through. Comes with a new 150w Phoenix 14k bulb, refractometer, test kits, chemicals, dried foods, buckets, siphon's, bakpak skimmer, pumps & all the goodies. $425 for everything, including the stand. I also have an acrylic sump and a 30g (with black back) I will let go for cheap... $25 each or $40 for both. Attached is a not-so-good photo, but you get the gist of it
  6. Thank you to those people who have replied to my thread and expressed interest in purchaing my stuff. The Live Rock is sold to Garrett and I seem to have a couple people interested in the other stuff. Now I am not trying to be a jerk or anything, but people are asking how much I would like for my AP24 setup. I realize it is my responsibility as the seller to come up with a price, but I am a little perplexed as to how to price it. On one hand they seem to cost around $500 new, but I've been around long enough to know what that means. I would like to sell it for a price that is fair to both me and the buyer. I want them to get a good value and me to get a fair deal. That said, I really don't know how to price it. Is $250 for the tank and light reasonable or too much? Be honest, I'm not trying to take advantage of anyone... just recoup a fraction of my initial investments.
  7. The light is the stock 150 Sunpod that comes with the 24g Aquapod.
  8. Hi Mike, Sorry, but no recent pics. A search will turn up a pic or two of my setup. All the rock in my system has to go. I think there is more than 30#, but that's what I'm selling it at. After the life stuff is gone I will start selling the hardware... Bakpak skimmer, 150w MH lamp, 24g aquapod, pumps, heaters, thermometers, refractometer, extra MH bulb, test kits, sand, and stand. Everything must go eventually so this is where I'm starting. The rock has some algae, but it's easily removed with a brush. With the snails, shrimp, corals and other live stuff you'll get I doubt you will find a better deal. Aptasia free as well. I spent months ridding it of that nasty stuff.
  9. Hello, I have 30# of nice Fiji live rock for sale. Not small rubble pieces, but 6 rocks. Comes with a devils hand leather, some mushrooms and a small SPS coral for $3/lb. Please no "reserves" this is first come first served. This is aptasia free and if it sells quickly with minimal hassle I will include a peppermint shrimp as well. Email works best superjohnny at hotmail dot com Thanks
  10. And I would love it if you did I'm working like crazy right now, so my responses may be delayed during the day, but please email me johnny.burrell at gmail to arrange pickup etc. Jason I got the stand at SW Fantaseas and it's very nice. I'd prefer to not part this out, but if it comes to that I will let you know. I've had a couple requests for pictures and I'll do that when I get a chance. I'm going to England Friday through next week so we may need to put off the transacting a while. Sorry bout that.
  11. Well it is time to get out of the hobby for a while. I have a 2 year old and another on the way and it's just too much for me. Attached is a pic of my Aquapod. I would love to sell this system as a whole if possible. If not, I'll part it out, but I'd like to try to sell it together first. Here's a list of the 24g stuff: 24g Aquapod w/ 150w MH Solid Oak stand ~30 lbs of live rock 75w Stealth heater Percula clown 100g cyclopeeze Nice big white LPS coral small Devil's hand leather various shrooms BakPak skimmer w/MJ 1200 Various nets, siphons, buckets, 5g jugs etc. test kits from Aquarium Pharm Salifert Calcium test kit (used maybe twice) digital thermometer Refractometer $550 but come with offers. I'd like to get this moved ASAP. I also have a 96w powerquad 20" PC light in a pine enclosure. 12. I would also like to have a ric frag if snowpunk doesn't want them or if he only wants one. I'd go for either. email or pm is great superjohnny at hotmail
  13. Hey Garrett, Check out VLC. It plays everything and is a nice, simple and clean media player. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
  14. I'd have to measure the light, but it was built to fit over a standard 10g. I've attached a picture of the sump for Amy. It's not the best picture, it's much prettier in person
  15. Hey guys, I have the following for sale. An acrylic sump that used to be a wet/dry. It's dimensions are 24" x11" x 16". $40 OBO. A 96w power-quad power compact fluorescent with a Custom Sealife electronic ballast and a nice long cord. It's in a nice wood box with reflector. I used this over my 10g for a few months until I upgraded to a 24g Aquapod. It's only seen a few months of use. I'm thinking $70 for the whole thing. I paid about $100 for the ballast and around $50 for the bulb if I remember correctly. I'd be interested in trading for a decent small powerhead like a Koralia 2 or a couple 1's. I also have a 6g Eclipse system 6 that could use a good cleaning. I'll let this go cheap, make me an offer. Cheers, Johnny
  16. I'm also a fan of the burning method. They're tenacious little buggers.
  17. Very nice. So when are you hosting a PNWMAS meeting
  18. Sweet stuff. If you decide to part it out I could use the Koralia. LMK
  19. When I bought my frogspawn from Waves he used a pair of what looked like medical type clippers. The type an electrician would use... not a barber. He clipped 2 heads a couple of inches below where the head of the coral was and said the white stuff is dead so it's fine. It's been in my tank thriving ever since.
  20. Thought I'd update this thread since I finally have it under control. I went into Waves and saw the same stuff in one of their tanks and asked the guy (not Joel) what it is. He agreed with Miles in that it is turf algae. He suggested a couple of Turbo snails and he was right. I took all the rock out and scrubbed it with a brush to get rid of 90% of it. The other bits have been kept under control with the 2 turbo snails. It was growing out of the sand and on the back wall as well, but it's under control now. I've never seen the emerald eat a thing. It just hangs under the rocks out of sight. I see him from time to time, but he's never out in the open.
  21. Awesome DR, well done all the way around. Question though... with an open top how do you keep dust & garbage from floating into the tank? I had the top off of my Aquapod most of this summer and there was always stuff visible floating on the surface. I guess a filter sock would take care of that if you're running a sump...
  22. I think I see some bare live rock on the left hand side. Might be time to fill that out... Actually, I don't see any fish. Beautiful though, fish or not.
  23. Yea Oregon has great water. We are very fortunate for that.
