  1. i think IE 6....or IE something......6 was the last number i remember..... also .....fwiw, this is the only site that does it.......... thanks Jay
  2. I often wonder why life is SO MUCH harder on me than EVERYBODY else!!!!!!
  3. that in order to view somebodys attached picture in a thread, it makes me download the file instead of just enlarging the pic????? I doubt i am but i would like to change whatever setting it could be so i dont have to do that..... thanks
  4. these are AWESOME!! The most reliable thermostat i have ever used without having a controller. Like already said, i also recommend two smaller ones. I run 2 250's on my 225 and 1 on my 90. Just dont leave it plugged in and set it down on the carpet........... http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_heaters_won_brothers_pro-heat_titanium.asp?CartId=
  5. you could scrape him off gently with a razor blade if you are impatient OR you coould just put a strong powerhead on him that irritates him and he will move on his own in a day or so.......
  6. Joes juice is a staple item that every reefer must have IMO.........
  7. I got a 30x14x14 im not using ive never used it myself...i acquired it... i have some pics somewhere of it....... is yours acrylic??? if so it should be easy to fix unless it exploded or something
  8. Thanks Impur. Flex pipe IS easier to work with although it takes a little practice or like you say, it is tough to get the angle right and it is also prone to leaking if you dont use a ton of HOT primer and most importantly, make sure that it is seated flush in the fitting. Put it in the dryer or out in the sun, or in the bathtub full of hot water next time it isnt behaving for you........... And for perfectly straight runs, use hard pvc
  9. Nearly done plumbing the 90....got the 8 way plumbed so the hard part is done.....
  10. Ive freshwater dipped my sps before too.......when i did it i figured "hey, they were dying anyway"(laugh) , i didnt notice any ill effects, although i only did it for 30 seconds while swishing them..........
  11. I got the first sea hare ive ever had today in the mail. Ive got some hair algae from a new tank start up,...its already receding on its own but i wanted a little help. HOLY CRAP!!! I was expecting this little 2 inch slug looking thing. This thing is like FIVE inches long. Didnt expect that. He started going to town on the algae within minutes of being in the tank. Van, get your phosphates down a little and you can have him in a couple weeks if you want to give it another shot.........
  12. Too bad they dont live longer........ Its a gorgeous specimen
  13. Finallyfound the 3/4" starboard i was looking for and rigged it up with the first invisible rock lift ive done for a BB tank.......worked out just as planned(for a change).......i DID have to cut the hunk of starboard lengthwise to get it into the tank. Anybody interested in having me make one of these invisible rock lifts for you shoot me a PM and we can talk about it.
  14. i posted this already, but for anyone who hasnt seen it it is pretty cool i think. the bubbles arent usually there, i turned off the sump return pump so that the cls returns catch air and create bubbles so you can see the flow. the gorgonia front right center is a pretty good indication of the random flow as well....... ive got 2 spraybars and 6 omniflex outlets across the top back of the tank being run by a OM 8-way and a barracuda. the cls is moving about 4200 gph. The return moves another 3000 or so. Tank is a 225. Only plumbing in the tank are two spraybars which of course are covered by reef.............
  15. At this point i wouldnt consider anything but OM. Just built one tank with a 8 way and starting another......
  16. well ive added a few more corals, and just today i got in the rest of my plumbing parts for my BB 90. I had James build me a tank with 100% external coast to coast overflows and im going to use a OM 8 way on it as well for flow...only difference is its going to be run by a dart instead of a barracuda heres a pic of the 225 a little ore stocked and the new that is getting partially unwrapped possibly tonight
  17. all i can say is that i bet those of us who have felt the pain dont ever NOT quarantine and treat ever again before adding stuff to our systems.......
  18. I probably dont know him well enough to say this, but i highly doubt WHATEVER it is, that its toxic to reefs
  19. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/printthread.php?threadid=688833&perpage=533 Im, looking, i have a couple more extensive threads of people doing the documentation and experiments trying to beat these little B******ds............ Regardless, good luck with your battle
  20. The purchase of medium thick plain rubber floor mat will last you for many different dampening projects............
  21. FWIW, your odds of beating the aefw's would greatly improve if you would cut all of those corals off just above the dead spots, toss everything below, blow the **** out of them and scrape off any eggs you see with a knife,(which shouldnt be any as you just cut them off, but just in case you see anything funny) and glue over the scars.......... The hardest thiung about these aefw's is we dont really know their gestation period and the majoriuty of them are too small to see, you can blow the majority if not all of them off of the live animal but the dead parts of the coral and the rocks are a crap shoot as far as eggs and worms. I *think* i beat them but it was a 6 week process with levamisole and doing what i described above. I did lose a lot, but saved more than half of my corals........*knock on wood*, and of the ones i saved the majority of which are frags off of colonies and/or a lot shorter than they started............. Just thought i would throw that out there.............
  22. Im talking about on the walls of the tank.......dont let it get to any crevices.......all of my gsp is currently not allowed in either of my displays
  23. Ive been toying with the idea of saving it and lining the edges of my walls with it......it might make for a cool border and be ok if you could keep it away from everything.......
  24. LOL...never thought of that one a epoxy that could be spread underwater and then stick could work but thats gonna be a whole lot more money and possibly a bigger mess than the kalk paste that SHOULD work. Ive used kalk paste on them before and it killed them .......but i was able to pull the rock out........ id try some kalk paste on a small piece and see if you can get away with using just enough not to mess your water up....... im having visions of you trying to kalk a few square feet of the stuff underwater...........
