  1. Yeah, the tank-poodle. How are the fish doing? Jay

  3. My devious little mind was already contemplating having the Sponsors join us in a future Board Meeting Chat to discuss the Sponsor side of things. We need to know what your concerns are. We can all work together to make this club great. I enjoy every perspective I can get. Maybe in the future Sponsors will be able to take a board seat, but for now we will call on you when we feel that we need your perspective. Like Stacy said, we have an open door policy and we look forward to many great years with all of our Sponsors. Jay
  4. I would need 2 48in units to cover my 8 foot tank. $4650.00 You only need one kidney, right? (scary) I am going to see how the coral react to the led's before jumping on the bandwagon. If they do perform, I could see myself changing over to them in the future. The savings in the long run would be amazing. Jay
  5. I want to have the most diverse group of people on the board. If everyone thought like I do, then things would always go my way. With a diverse group of people we have a better chance to do what is in the best interest of the club. I am not always right, neither is any one person, but 10 of us might get close to the best solution. Jay
  6. I added an Officers page to the front page. The Join "paypal" buttons are now current and reflect the full years membership dues. Any current member that is renewing their membership will receive a new sticker for the upcoming year. If your card is lost or stolen, please mention this in the paypal special instructions. A new card will be sent to you. The Links page is now started. Send in your links. Jay
  7. The board of directors are required to attend most of the Board Meetings with the Officers. The board has the right to vote on all issues. Board members can be part of a committee. Board members can also take on a club resposibility, like the club library. The most important responsiblitity of a board member is to speak for the membership. I hope I answered your question. Jay
  8. All Officer positions were uncontested. Your 2006-2007 PNWMAS Officers are: President Jay (Chief) also webmaster Vice President Bob (Lowman) also librarian Secretary Stacy (spayne) also forum admin Treasurer Ryan (R-3) Vendor Relations Michael (Michael7979) The board of directors will be voted upon by the governing body at the June Meeting. Jay
  9. Elections are now closed. Jay
  10. I'm sure Bobby (Tat2d) won't mind if I borrow his pic. Jay
  11. What kind of fixture is it? It might just be your ballast? How old is the fixture? Where did you buy it? Under Warranty? If not here is a link to a replacement ballast for a Current USA 2X65watt. http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0geuo6j_JZEyEkB8V1XNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTE4YWI2OGZrBGNvbG8DZQRsA1dTMQRwb3MDMQRzZWMDc3IEdnRpZANZUzEwM18xODI-/SIG=12g8qim9g/EXP=1150832163/**http%3a//www.marineandreef.com/shoppro/power_CurrentParts.html Sorry about our luck. My wife has a 2X65 watt Current USA fixture on her nano. We would be happy to test your lights for you. We live in Creswell. Jay
  12. Here is a link to what they are talking about. http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75909 Go to the bottom of the thread where Tat2d posts pics of his old and new sump. It is the first pic. Eggcrate with blue filter material on top. Jay
  13. I think they come up for the reptile show in August. This is a great opportunity. They don't come around very often. Jay
  14. The Calendar link at the top of the page now works also. Jay
  15. Bring them up. The more the merrier. It will be good to see some faces from Southern Oregon. Jay
  16. Whole Foods stops selling live lobsters AUSTIN, Texas - Customers craving fresh crustaceans will have to look beyond Whole Foods Market Inc. after the natural-foods grocery chain decided Thursday to stop selling live lobsters and crabs on the grounds that it's inhumane. The Austin-based grocer spent seven months studying the sale of live lobsters from ship to supermarket aisle, trying to determine whether the creatures suffer along the way. In some stores, they experimented with ``lobster condos,'' filling tanks with stacks of large pipes the critters can crawl inside. And they moved the tanks behind seafood counters and away from children's tapping fingers. Ultimately, Whole Foods management decided to immediately stop selling live lobsters and soft-shell crabs, saying they could not ensure the creatures are treated with respect and compassion. I think this is a step in the right direction. Jay
  17. Your tank is looking great. Congratulations on the BTA split. Jay
  18. Sarah, when are you moving your tank. Stacy and I are always willing to help. ESPECIALLY if there are recreational beverages. (drinking) Jay
  19. We are trying to compile a list of links to add on our front page link section. The thread is located in the Frontpage Feedback forum. Jay
  20. I could be wrong but I think PC's only last about 6 months before they start losing their spectrum. I would change your lights and see if you get some color back. Jay
  21. I'm glad that you and Keith will still be around. Somebody has to kick us around every now and then.(laugh) Jay
  22. Keith's position was temporary. He helped us out by giving us a great site, and we thank him for it. Keith will always be there to help out, but now the responsibility rests with Stacy (spayne). Since Angie (Fenmere) no longer has a tank, she has decided to step down. She said it didn't make sense to be an officer if she was not in the hobby. Ryan (Krux) said it all in his post. We will miss them all. Hopefully they will be back soon. Jay
