Miniwhinny
Hi guys, I'm new here so I hope I'm introducing myself and my tank in the right place. I started an AGA 29 nano the first week of January this year. I'm running a 150w 14,000k HQI Sunpod (seriously thinking of upping to a 250w) I converted an Aquaclear 110 into a fuge with LRR and chaeto. I have an AquaC Remora skimmer and surface skimmer attachment and an AC 50 ph for extra flow. Approx 25lbs of LR and base rock. Oh and I'm running it BB. The whole thing is home to my two baby (7 months) ORA bred GSM's and a small 1/2 inch long green barred goby. I feed Rod's which I get from my LFS "Oasis" in Redmond. Just wanted to share a few photos before I get back to reading as many past posts on this site as I can Of course I don't have much yet as the tanks only 2 months old...but it's a start. Thanks for letting me share. Green Ricordia Baby GSM's Pink Zoas Yellow Polyps GSM in her favorite mushroom Zoas Ricordias Palys

dsoz
Nice! Are you the same person from NR that had the party crash the tank last year? If so, WELCOME! I "talked to you back then, and I am glad that you found this site as well. dsoz
Miniwhinny
Thanks guys, FTS I refuse to share HAHAHA...well as long as the two base rocks that I used as looking so white !!! Oh, okay, what the heck...here's one (whistle) Sorry about the white rocks and the diatom bloom as I'm having a small cycle from adding the two clowns. Wow dsoz you have an awesome memory. Yup, I'm the same person who had a 20L and 29 destroyed during a home invasion/party/burglery last summer (17 kids broke in while we were on vacation) FYI, we had the last trial just a couple of weeks ago. Every single one has been charged and found guilty in this case. The two who stole the most have been found guilty of felony burglery and criminal mishchief. One of the two 18 year olds has been found guilty of felony burglery and the only one not yet caught and charged (on the run) has warrents out for breaking into the car, house, theft, kidnapping in this case and in two other counties for things related to this case. YAHOOOOOOOOO...the good guys actually won this time. (rock2)
Miniwhinny
Wish I'd have known you guys needed Rod's food. I'm heading to PDX in about an hour to visit my mom (girls weekend out lol) I could have brought some with me - my LFS in Redmond sells it. impur
I read that thread at NR. Thats so terrible. At least they are all paying the price. Your tank looks great! And welcome to the site! My last tank was a 29gal and i loved it.
vanz
Hi, welcome to the club. Is that red thing really a mushroom? Looks a lot like a RBTA, but the tentacles are kinda different.
Miniwhinny
It is a mushroom. It does look like an RBT nem and it's got the Maroons fooled. I have three so far a red, pink and blue. They never leave them and sleep in them at night. Here's a couple more pics but please excuse the size I'm out of town and can't resize them. I'm really loving this tank. It's taken a lot mentally to get going again after the burglery but this tank sure is helping
spectra
Nice looking tank and those mushrooms are great looking. What type are they? Those would be better than a anemonie in a sps tank. Pics are awsome looking to! Thanks for sharing.

Miniwhinny
Nice looking tank and those mushrooms are great looking. What type are they? Those would be better than a anemonie in a sps tank. Pics are awsome looking to! Thanks for sharing. They are Discosoma Sanctithome (hope I'm spelling that correctly) They are very hardy (very). I read that they don't like a lot of water flow but mine are in heavy flow and seem more than happy...and the clowns love them. Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome. I've meant to find you for so long and am so glad I finally have. Oups..edited to say...sorry...replied to page one before seeing chewie had replied. Miniwhinny
I guess this is going to become my build thread (as my tank is only 2 months old) so here's the latest additions First, I didn't like my aquascaping. I did it in a hurry after I cracked my 20 galllon (had everything in a 20 to start with) and had to move everything in a hurry. So last weekend I took everything out put things in a 10 and slowly put things back where I wanted them. I didn't have enough black sand or white sand to fill the tank...so I mixed them together and now have spotted sand lol which actually looks really nice. Here's a few additions after a trip to Portland. Thanks for letting me share. I'm in the market for a nice green frogspawn next, I just want a small one so that will be my next "quest" (whistle)
Miniwhinny
Got my first SPS last Friday from my local LFS Oasis here in Redmond. This is an ORA grown green birdsnest. I love it ! They are having a huge sale this Saturday to celebrate their 1st anniversary so I'm eagerly waiting to get more "stuff" at 1/2 price *grin* (can't beat that (rock2))
Miniwhinny
oh, the sand bit the dust !!!! ( I know , I know...in out in out in out lol) It's hard looking at the detritus build up after being BB. I upped the flow for the SPS and so far the low flow softies don't seem bothered. I'm keeping my eye on them to make sure they continue to be happy.

impur
Nice frag, one of my favs. I just wish i could keep one alive. Seems to be one of the SPS that just won't live in my tank for one reason or another.

I presume you are or were a Duck? My oldest just turned 18 last week and has been accepted to the U of O for this Fall (clap)(clap)
Miniwhinny
Okay, today's excitement... My favorite blue mushroom.. HAD A BABY !!!!!! (clap)(clap)(clap) It's "bumps" haven't formed yet but you can see the little buds where they are going to be And...I got a gorgeous green w/pink tips Froggie which I've wanted for a long time. This came from Sean at Pacific Coral Farms. I so have to thank him for this...last summer when my tank was murdered by the burglers Sean heard about it and even though I'd never stepped foot in his store - sent me a gift certificate to help me get back. I used it yesterday on this beauty. THANK you Sean (clap)

I presume you are or were a Duck? My oldest just turned 18 last week and has been accepted to the U of O for this Fall (clap)(clap) I think it was just bad timing both times i tried one. First time i came down with AEFW a few weeks after i got the frag. The second time was right after i put my CA reactor online and it drove the pH down to the low 7's. I think you'll be fine Both my wife and I were/are Ducks. Congrats on his admission, thats terrific!!!!!(dancing)(drinking)(party)

Thanks for the kind words. I love the 'shrooms too. They are Discosoma Sanctithea (sp?) A.k.a. St. Thomas Mushroom. My GSM has been in the red one non stop since she found it over a month ago. I'm sure she thinks it's a RBTA. One thing you have to watch is that they melt rics. I have my pink one next - almost on top of - some zoas and they are fine but it enchroached on a pink ric and melted it. They are supposed to be lower light, lower flow lovers but I have mine in lots of flow and a 150 HQI light and they look very happy (and obviously reproducing) I'm not sure what the forum rules are on "advertising" LFS's out of the area - I'd have bought these locally if I could have found one. So I'll PM you. Maybe a mod can let me know. I'm totally into supporting our local LFS stores for 99.9999% of my purchases.
