Chelsea1
I have a beautiful tank I bought my partner and when he and I split he just left it in my apartment. I know nothing about tanks. But I really love this tank. I even bought a giant clam and some other stuff to keep in the tank. So now I am low income, paying rent alone, and need help with this tank. I want to learn how to take care of it myself but also need help in the meantime. I have been alone with this tank a couple weeks now and am starting to get worried about the animals in my tank. It still looks okay and no one looks like they are dying yet but I don't want it to get to that point. Its a 50 gallon red sea and is beautiful. Is anyone that uses this site willing to come over to my place and help me? Does anyone know about this type of tank and what I should be doing? Would anyone be willing to bring me some saltwater if I pay you for that too? I just called my closest saltwater fishtank store which was cayes or CBs (I can't remember which one) and they said 100$ JUST to come over and then like 100$ more for any help or time which is just completely outside of my budget. I would be willing to pay someone but not 200$ a visit and was hoping I could connect with someone here. I want to learn how to maintain this by myself, so someone willing to teach me if I pay them. And maybe a little help keeping it up while I learn (also willing to pay). I have been really struggling with my mental health and this tank has always relaxed me. If anyone would be willing to help me I would be SO grateful for even just coming over and giving advice. Anything is better then nothing so whatever works. Thank you for reading this if you made it this far and I appreciate any help or suggestions! Higher Thinking
I live in Scappoose, but my work is over by CBs. How far are you from that? I'm down 181st where it turns to Airport Way. I could stop by and chat at some point, maybe Friday after 4. Or sometime next week. Do you have any top off water? Test kits? Refractometer? (To test salinity). If you just drive to a local shop you can buy saltwater. Or order a batch of Instant Ocean from Amazon and have it in a couple days and then head to the grocery store and get some 5 gallons jugs of RODI water and make your own. The clam can be high maintenance, FYI.

talkalot82
You can get a box of salt from Amazon for 59.00 with prime. Will do 200 gallons of water. I'm not by you but I hope you get help. It's not as hard as all that. You can do it. We were all starting out some time.
