TheClark
I am looking for advice on how to prep the walls in the reef room. I do plan to keep humidity down, so but I suppose it will always be more humid than a typical room. Considered: FRP Primer + Exterior Paint Green Board My goal is to have something that looks decent and is not allot of work. (ie I want to start using this room sooner than later!) Leaning towards texturing and priming the walls with Kilz or similar, and painting a nice color. What have you used or seen work well? Parzifal
I am loving the frp I put up. No risk of paint peeling and I can wipe them down easily if needed. Definitely more expensive but IMO worth it! Took me me one day to get frp on the walls and ceiling... about the same as it would be to do three coats of paint. If you have questions just shoot me a pm
Flash21
I’ve installed many miles of FRP... if you don’t care for the look of FRP will work out great.
cjmdh
Just like a bathroom with a shower any gloss or semi-gloss interior enamel paint should do well at repelling moisture. Hopefully your reef room doesn't get that steamy! If you are really worried about moisture you can use a moisture resistant primer.

I sure hope to control the humidity well. The FRP is cool too, but I am just looking for sufficiency, not necessarily awesomeness... At least on the walls, save that for the equipment and coral!
