The ReefBox
So I come to my tank to find mp40 Westside on sand. Try putting back on and it is like polarized wrong way and won't stick. Keeps pushing away from dry side. I have checked it with another dry side and works fine. Anyone had this problem before? I just updated to a quiet drive last week just the upgrade kit not the dry side
caolewis
U need to turn the whole wetside until you have a feel of tight bond between dry and wet sides. It won't be like old mp40 with strong mag. You need to find a sweet spot where the dry and wet stick the most by turn/twist the wetside

Higher Thinking
I don't know if this is at all possible or probable, but could you have possibly hooked up the driver backwards? Like maybe the magnet is spinning in the wrong direction? I'm just throwing that out there.
Arsonmfg
Do you have the power completely off to the driver?

Righttirefire
I assume it's been on this tank before vortech says max glass thickness is 0.75" which seem thick for a tank
Arsonmfg
I assume it's been on this tank before vortech says max glass thickness is 0.75" which seem thick for a tank That's a rating for glass and acrylic tanks... 1" thick acrylic tanks aren't uncommon. Righttirefire
So is it a 1" thick acrylic tank? That could be the issue

Lexinverts
What do you mean, QD upgrade? Did you upgrade an old MP40? This upgrade: http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/vortech-quietdrive-upgrade-driver-ecotech-marine.html I just got two of them for my MP10s. Brian, do you know if this issue was limited to a few units? Or is it a larger problem?
reefnjunkie
I assumed but being I have QD i wanted to be sure it wasnt some firmware upgrade that caused the units to freak out- I pretty much assumed that was the case since Brian hadnt posted a "HELP" i just did a firmware update........ The ReefBox
seems something cause motor to stop and scramble the programming. they suggested a hard reset and now is working fine. it is likely the shaft that broke and caused a seize up of the impellor.
