Emerald525
Great thanks! Okay here's another! Anemone It seems it should be pronounced like it is spelled "ah nem o nee"(scratch) but I hear people call it "ah nen o mee" It's easier to say the second way but then I don't spell it right. dsoz
Zoanthid... so zoa (zoh-aah) not zoo anemone (ah-nem-oh-nee) Chaeto with a hard C (like celt) (kay-toe) that is how the "expert" Eric Borneman pronounced it. Along with... Acropora (ah-crop-or-ah) commonly called acro-pora and Montipora (mon-tip-or-ah) commonly called monti-pora These are latin words, and nobody but science geeks speek latin anymore, so as long as the word is understood, there are no real rules for pronunciation. (That is what my botany prof said when I was in college.) dsoz
