  1. Ive been looking at abs sheets as well or even hdpe sheets for skinning
  2. Im about to make an all wood stand for my standard 75g so I dont have to run a basment sump. Im gonna do a "shaved" cabinet and just have removable panels im still on materials for skinning.
  3. My local petco is remodeling their entire aquatics section. I got my clowns and firefish from them. Plus a really nice zoa colony fwiw the aquatics person there seems to actually care and asks good questions when inquiring about fish such as tank length whats your current salinity age of tank etc etc. They werent going to even let me buy a featherduster unless I could feed it!
  4. Awesome!! Captial investments are great for everyone!
  5. Theres a couple ways but they wouldnt be safe you could always split the rocks thats one way. Another way would be to take the rock with the brittles and place it onto or next to another piece of live rock I had luck using this method. My lfs had some live rock that was infested with brittle stars so I bought 2lbs of it and now I have brittle stars lol.

  8. Wow thats alot of information thank you very much!
  9. I cant seem to find those really long ones anywhere.
  10. Im curious what other people use and where you got it from ive been looking at amazon for a good pair of long forceps and a long pipette but havent been sold on anything yet. I dont like putting my hands in the water for fear of whats on them. I work in an industrial environment and have been worried about contamination of my dt.
  11. They were only actually agressive day one the blackice grabbed the snowflake as soon as I dropped it out of the bag and tried to swim around with it in its mouth this lastes about 1 second and then the reverse happened and then the blackice did the twitching move and they went on their way. The snowflake has never bitten the other clown since, it just rushes up to the other at random no agression while eating. Just seems to me like the snowflake is checking the blackice. Im concerned because the blackice is growing faster than the snowflake. Used to be that the snowflake was 2x the size of the blackice not the case anymore.
  12. There hasnt been any significant quarrels since day 1 the snowflake likes to swim really fast up to the blackice every once and awhile
  13. Twitching has to do with showing dominance or submission. My blackice does it practically everyday.
  14. Im under the impression that my clowns didnt pair they dont behave like what ive seen with mated pairs. Or how id expect either I got my first clown a blackice clown back on the first week of june and the second a month later a snowflake clown about 2 times the size of the blackice. Well now 2 months later the snowflake is using the bta the blackice is not they sleep on opposite corners of the tank they are both the same size now the snowflake still bickers at the blackice and the blackice still does the twitching move back. Im just starting to think I might need to separate them before things go bad or is this all in my head? Everyone of my fish is in qt right now and their behavior is all the same
  15. Ive been testing biweekly since month 2 im on month 3 now. Nitrate and phosphate were pretty steady at 16ppm nitrate and 0.08 phosphate, up until my nitrate spike I then just slowly worked it down to what it is now
  16. Nitrate 16ppm Phos 0.04 Temp 78 Salinty 36ppm Redsea test kit Just got my nitrates back down after a big spike 64ppm and 0.08 phos as well I also have a fist sized chaeto ball in a acclimation box in display as well
  17. Not trying to hijack but is it 15 or 20 gallons?
  18. Bummer I work weekends! Glad you had a good trip !
  19. All my fish snack on them all day to the point they have been eating less daily. Had me worried that there was an issue but close observation showed that they were eating practically all day even after lights out they were hunting.
  20. Anyone else have a huge population of these guys? Also it seems alot of people call them copepods? But they do not at all resemble the copepods I added.
