OK. Thanks. Makes sense. I've just seen so many 10g bottom drilled.  I just could never get it right.

Well its definitely possible.  You just have to make a clean drill. Reinforce that weak spot with maybe a crossbeam of glass or acrylic.  But at that point, might aswell get a bigger tank. You can do it with acrylic tanks with next to zero problems because it's structurally stronger and 1 piece. Rather then glass being held together with sealant which is made to flex.

  2. it depends on the tank size. Larger tanks usual have thicker bottom panes so structurally its possible to drill bottoms if not tempered.  I would keep 1-40gallons strictly to side/front panel drilling. Otherwise you'll run into structurally stressed cracks. Unless you get a perfect drill, which is almost impossible.

I have the handheld and I’m waiting for Amazon to deliver a new battery. I got it with a low battery and I was hoping to take measurements the day I got it. Unfortunately that couldn’t happen already and it won’t be sooner than Tuesday to return it. I’m hoping my work schedule will allow me to drop it off Tuesday.

I have you down for a short extension for difficulties.

Is the handheld unit out now? We're waiting to measure our new light so we can glue some stuff down. Monday is our normal day to come to CNC but since it's closed, we'll have to work out our schedules as soon as we know our name is up. And pay the deposit of course.

Yes. It should be returned Tuesday or sooner.

  5. I've tried it. I used Dr tims and it seemed to have a longer lasting nitrate reaction. Corals also love ammonia. Fish and inverts is a nogo tho so keep it low low.also a side note, kalk bonds phosphates so using it can deplete phosphates but after stopping it, it can take a dramatic turn around. Lol I'm a mad scientist and uhh my tanks aren't looking so great. Time to get back to the basics.

Saw on the list that you’re waiting on deposit. Just paid the deposit. Can pick-up sometime this weekend once given the go ahead. Thanks.

Usb is available for pickup.  Let me know on a confirmed pick up date to let the shop know 🤙

There are a few of us with printers if you have specific questions. The enders are the budget entry printer. They work great but can take some tinkering. Bamboo labs supposedly makes amazing printers but there is some proprietary stuff with them. However, they have all the upgrades you will do to an ender, and they come assembled out of the box and ready to print.

The ender3 V3 it pretty much assembled out of the box. Has the sprite fill also. The only problem I found was settings when switching filaments but I think I'm dialed in. The v3 pretty much has all the upgrades besides the bed print removable deck.

  8. I would say the regal hippo tang I had. I guess it got territorial and decided to take coral frags in my tank and bring them to the high column of my tank and just drop them. Like it was rearranging furniture or trying to send a message. Or diamonds goby getting passed off and spitting sand on corals till you can find them.those were my older fish. Now my Darwin clowns like to push corals over because they want to lay eggs in a spot that's taken. 🤷 fish are just weird.

@islandVib3s the only thing you’d want in your ATO would be Kalk. Even then that’s not really the best way to dose it as ATO amounts change with weather.

best practice is dosing through a doser. Even a $30 Jebao doser that’s calibrated is better than trying to guess right amounts through ATO.

Do your tank a favor and use proven methods to keep it stable.

I think you identified my problem lol. I've been hooked up to my ato this whole time. Time for a change over. Thx man.

You mean All-for-Reef? I'd be concerned about getting the right dose. I have it on dosers for two tanks and have to adjust the amounts as testing proves necessary.

Daily top off amounts vary throughout the year so it would be difficult to regulate.

Yea I realized that. Maybe I'll try a really low dosage if I give it a try.
