  1. I too would like to know what you suggest, I don’t have anything currently in my tank since I used dry rock from the start.
  2. I assume the other frags were a little older. The acro seemed to be a brand new frag. I left everything on the plug simply because I didn’t want to stress them out after shipping and will remove them later
  3. Well my review is this. Everything was packaged well double vacuum sealed. Corals were very clean (didn’t see any pests) but some had hair algea (not bad though) so far everything looks very healthy the only coral that looked new and wasn’t fully encrusted on its plug was the acropora. This is the first sps in my tank also venturing into lps wish me luck!
  4. Does anyone have experience with salt critters? This is my first time ordering from an online retailer and I’m hoping they are good.
  5. https://www.irrigationking.com/pvc-hose-adapter-3-4-fht-x-1-2-barb-500-005.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiAoKeuBhCoARIsAB4WxtcKGCtlnSmBK6dnxmcAJtAAMxUtj3QJ8plE6q-9Re9KzS1Je-vBNm0aArTWEALw_wcB something like this could work also I’d consider putting in a check valve to keep any water from draining backwards ( happened to my brother )
  6. Not sure of your location but I’d try Ferguson plumbing supply store. Could just go in and ask for options
  7. I plan on trying to make it up there as well.
  8. Somebody please!!! This is too crazy
  9. Mixed another batch today, this time the salt has an awful smell. Needless to say I will be attempting an Amazon return and will stick with the trusted redsea blue bucket
  10. I’m surprised no one gas jumped yet! If only the tax man wasn’t taking this year I’d love is thing! Great price free bump
  11. I believe it’s been around for almost 10 years now but doesn’t seem to have as big of following as the others.
  12. One of my favorite things is the people, everyone is nice and always helpful when a disaster strikes or if there is a true need.
  13. Thats definitely an easy way to not make the same mistake. While doing my previous WC I broke my sump so I’m currently using a 4 gallon bucket until I can either fix or replace. Although it’s a tempting excuses to finally get a bigger AIO like that redsea e-260 that’s for sale 😂 wife would kill me though
  14. Ooph that’s awful!! I think that’s one of those 1 time mistakes!!
  15. This is by far one of the most rewarding and most gut punching hobbies there has to be! I’m curious how many times other members here have either quit and came back, been on the verge of quitting or are just too [language filter] stubborn to truly quit. For me I’ve been in and out of Pnwmas since 2011. lost my original login so got a new one! The first guys I met were Rodger, Josh (Mohaynow) and Garret (tpa) they thought me so much and I still wish they were around like back then because man they were fun dudes and loved sharing knowledge!! this hobby for me personally has been great only lost 2 tanks due to young kids wanting to help! One was an entire food jar dumped in by my youngest and crashed the system, the other was a tank knocked over again by my youngest, I've always kept nanos, I like how easy to clean they are and not a big footprint but if I don’t stay on it can loose control quickly my current setup is almost 1.5 years old and I’m embarrassed to admit but I just did my first WC in almost 8 months… Tank had seen better days but it’s funny because this past cleaning actually reignited the fire I first had when I started reef keeping all those years ago so it got me thinking what are other’s journeys in the reef keeping world? Besides the fact were all nuts to do this!
  16. Quick update. i mixed a small batch last night and directions say 36g per liter but i found that ~40g per liter gave me the results of 35ppt that I shoot for. one thing i can say is this stuff mixed super fast and I didn’t have to sit there and stir from salt settling at the bottom. I added to tank and will wait and see whether or not the inhabitants like the mix or not.
  17. That’s awful! Sorry to hear about this happening!!
  18. https://www.continuumaquatics.com/marine_wc/halcyon_salt.php not sure im allowed to put external links if not im sorry. But anyone using this salt? I’m getting ready to mix my first batch and will update after I do how it goes but the little bit of information I can find on it seems good. I was using coral pro but was never super impressed with it.
  19. Looking for small sump, mine broke during a WC 20”L x 10” w or a 20 gallon aio to transfer everything over stand is 15.5”W x 27” L so if it fits it sits. Thanks!
  20. Thanks Colbymac! I’ll be sending a pm here soon after I get my tank cleaned up and would love to come grab some!
  21. Don’t get up that way a whole lot but when I do next I’ll give you a shout
  22. Looking for the easy cheap stuff my tanks almost a year old now, I love mushrooms Zoas and anything that moves. its been a long time and I need to clean up the tank and add some new to it
