  1. you are going about it all wrong.. You need to add livestock while getting rid of pests. My I suggest....
  2. That is good to hear. Trying get the settings straight on it. It shut off for a few minutes thinking we were not home. Will need to turn off those features until the house gets cooled down.
  3. My wife emailed me today that our thermostat died today. It got up to 84 in our house and my 75 gallon tank only gained a degree. Plus side is I was able to get a Nest which I have wanted for a long time.
  4. Same here, I am in Aloha in Cooper Mountain area. Have plenty to go around. Might even have a few pods in it.
  5. Yep very cool dude! I got three fish from him a couple months ago, they are the stars of the tank.
  6. I think you will be fine temp wise. It takes a lot to heat up water and unless you are living in a tent (which I doubt 😀) your house wont get that warm. If you have AC you could turn it down Sunday night and you could lower the temp on your tank so the water is a little cooler.
  7. What probes come with the Apex? And do you have wifi adapter for it?? And Ziggy says "hi"
  8. Great, I will keep that in mind next time I see one at the LFS !
  9. Looks good and glad to see someone else with a Marineland 75 gallon tank! How is your blue tang doing? I want to get one but I am afraid of it getting too big for the tank too quickly.
  10. I did add a bunch of pods to my refugium. I am also wondering if enough are getting in the tank and he was snacking at night.
  11. I have a valentini saddle puffer for about 5 months now. Great fish and very active but the last couple of days he has stopped eating. Still active but seems to have no interest in food even when I wave clam slices right in front of his face. I notices Saturday he looked a bit fatter than normal but the last couple of days back to normal shape, I did not see him puff but that might have been post puff bloat (?). Do they stop eating for a few days after they puff up?? Also I have noticed no aggression from the other fish in the tank so I think I can rule out he stressed and my water numbers are all good and all the other fish are active and eating so I can rule water problems. Any advice would be good but I am hoping I am stressing over nothing.
  12. Here is Crabby McCrabberface. He who eats my conch so he can have a new home.
  13. Here is one I took a couple weeks ago in eastern South Dakota
  14. I had a problem trying to order from their website but I called them and did the order of the phone and in an hour or so I got an email that it was shipped.
  15. Mine did that for about a week about a month ago. It came back bigger and dropped some branches. I think it is how it grows and reproduces.
  16. Have you called George Moreland?
  17. You say you have a 20 gallon sump.. What is the DT size?? I have the 20 gallon long tank as my sump and a 75 gallon DT. I have the Osmolator and it takes longer to get it out of the box than it is to set it up. It has a high water warning which is good if your return pumps stops so you know something is wrong.
  18. If they make I would be up to buying 1 from you
  19. I had a fire fish for months who was very easy going so I never put a screen on my 75 gallon tank and this last week he must have went carpet surfing and became a cat snack.
  20. I did this and it just about silenced my overflow draining. I could tinker with it a little more to silence it but I have not bothered with it since it is not too intrusive sound wise.
  21. Like you I went from fresh water to saltwater. I started with a 29 gallon tank and after a month I moved everyone to my 75 gallon tank. I have found saltwater fish keeping is not that much harder than freshwater other than you just need stay on top of topping off with freshwater daily so the salinity stays in check. I am just now starting with some beginner corals so need to learn how to keep the elements and hardness in check. I would recommend checking the for sale forum, you can save a bundle that way.
