  1. I have one on my red sea refer 170. I have seen my cat looking st the fish now thinking about jumping on it. I don't think it will stop her from jumping it. And may actually encourage he to try. The artfully acrylic ones are nice and fit well. Definitely like knowing the fish can't jump out.
  2. Those new tanks are very nice. Jeff let us see them when we stopped by last week. That are will be a cool area.
  3. This first one was probably scared by a rock moving in the night. It was not as stable as it should of been. The aquscape was changed wed to fix the before the other was added.
  4. Live stock fish are 2 clowns snowflake 3 green chromis 1 blue hippo tang and a blenny inverts 8 small snails 2 emerald crabs and a shrimp
  5. We should had a lid on the tank to prevent this. Poor fish had to suffer with our mistake.
  6. Are all gobies sucidial? We had our first one jump out of the tank Tuesday. I made a temporary lid for the tank Wednesday and some how during feeding the fish last night the one we got to replace it decided to jump out unobserved. Current plan is no more gobies until the permanent lid arrives. For sand sifting is it better to have a goby or something else this is less jumpy?
  7. The nem ended up right on top I rotated the rock and the nem moved. It's a little grouchy now and looks much better when open.
  8. My nem has decide to relocate to close to this coral how can I get the coral to release from the rock so I can safely move it?
  9. I found a way to drop the light finally. It's ugly and maybe a bit risky but zip ties make good hanging material.
  10. And a closer view of the tank. Working on the algae growth.
  11. Haven't posted a pic in a while. Now that I have gotten back from my business trip. Thought I would post a full picture tank and messed sump area. The new little K2-50 fits very nicely in a Red Sea 170 sump. This leaves plenty of room for some chaeto or other things in the sump. Just need a bit more movement for the chaeto I think. swamp
  12. I have a kid on order for this. Not sure it would of helped in this case. And I still don't like the aquascape. More adjustments are needed. I am using the lesson from earlier today to wait.
  13. So I get back from a 2 week trip and have a new skimmer ready to be picked up. So the wife and I decide to try to clean som of the algae growth and rearrange the live rock. I find it hard to not pick up something (zoa, coral) when I am getting new hardware. So we had to place some zoa's. During this process unnoticed by my wife or my self on or the green chromis decided to jump for it. Lesson learned count the fish when moving live rock. We found said chromis after an unknown amount of time out of the water. Other lesson learned might be don't go to coral shop right after getting off a plane from international travel before going home. Will take a picture of the zoas once the water clears some form the cleaning and they open back up. Maybe even one more lesson don't work on tank while under full jet lag?
  14. Hsinchu is familiar me usually stay in the Sheraton there. Also good to know it's not worth looking at the hardware there. Wish I had more shopping time now. Heading back from China today. Would have liked to hunt for some leds and power supplies.
  15. What city was this in in Taiwan. I have to take business trip there on occasion too.

    Nice clean setup.
  17. My wife just sent me a new picture of the sponge and it's getting big. She is being a good tank sitter while I am traveling.
  18. My wife noticed one of my hermit not moving very fast. I checked out its shell and it was empty and there are no replacement shells in the tank. So now time to perform some detective work and see what happened to the little guy. She was right the shell was not moving very fast.
  19. Sasquatch once it's big enough to drag you can have some. MrBret stopped by and it it a sponge.
  20. Here is a little more zoomed in image. I only have my phone and it only goes to 10x zoom. So this is the best I can get.
  21. I had a chromis hanging around there. Wish it was the clowns.
  22. Can I get some help identifying this growth on one of my rocks?
  23. Thank you to Higher Thinking. He hooked me up. His setup is cool maybe someday I can something like that.
  24. I got a little 2.5 gallon tank to keep it in I added a live rock, air stone and heater. Any suggestions on how long the water might stay safe for parameters? And I must be addicted to this.
