  1. I am trying to grow some now too to feed some rotifers. Have clown fry hatching right now that I have to feed.
  2. My clowns layed some eggs and I am looking to see if anyone has a rotifer colony up and running. I have some on order but I don’t think it will make it in time.
  3. The canister is clear it’s just that the indicator on it was not that clear. I like the idea of the refil kit from brs. I will look into getting one of those next. I stopped by Bret’s shop and got a new di filter on order through him. While I was there MrsBrer had some Fluconazole. Since I have been fighting alge I got some of that to treat my tank. And on reflection the top off water I was using was not helping me chase the nitrates in the water. So I will see how well that works.
  4. Just when I thought I was learning. I hit the fun joy of my di resin expiring and spiking my ammonia. I know a saw a thread on here about that. At least I caught the spike early on and only lost my poor sick nem and one other thing. Now I get to deal with the spike in nitrates. So for all of the new people don’t forget to check your ro/di water on occasion.
  5. Poor crazy nem. Looks like it's recovering but looks weak. Trying to keep it fed every couple of days.
  6. Spectra you need to try beef sashimi then. When done right is so good and so smooth. When don wrong, well lets not go there.
  7. I moved it back up to the display. So it can get light. Worried it got hurt on the way down.
  8. After 2 days of looking when I could I found the crazy nem. Somehow it crawled from the tank to the sump. Not sure how it fit to get to the drain to get down there. Hopefully it's not hurt and will find a happy home.
  9. The crazy nem is now mia in the tank. It was up on the wall yesterday but now now where to be seen. Figure it's hiding somewhere hopefully.
  10. I have been winding about light level and probably should get on the list for the par meter. This is the profile I have active. This on a Red Sea 170 so it only about 18in to the sand bed from the top of the water and the light is about 10in up.
  11. Looks like my nem found a happy spot. Right at the top of the tank.
  12. That sounds like a good idea. I have one wander bta right it might be funny if another one wandered also.
  13. Both of their feet are in a good hole in the rocks. No way will I better getting ice on them. Guess I will just have to be patient with then. They both have pretty bad light so I would think they would want to move.
  14. I have 2 rock flowers that I need to get moved. Is there any reliable way to get them to let go of the rock they are in? I have read using the power head on the will help motivate them to release. Has any one tried this? thanks.
  15. I know this doesn't count. But there is a relationship here. She must be dreaming of which one to eat first.
  16. Thanks Emerald. The timing is just my luck. All raffle prizes are good. I like seeing the pictures and the comradeship of the gatherings. All of the suggestions the group has would make me happy. It seems like not matter how long you have been in the hobby you can always use new things.
  17. Emerald who picks the dates for the meetings. I have such a tough choice. Last weeks was on my wife's birthday. So I missed that. Now the one for august lands on mine. :(. For someone new like me any equipment won in a raffle is a bonus and appreciated. I have noticed the raffle prizes given out are all nice.
  18. Sitting in traffic counts as long as the motor is running with 30 min you would be ok. The key is getting the oil in the motor hot for long enough.
  19. If you plan on using the truck as a daily driver make sure your commute is long enough to get the engine hot. If you have less than a 20 min commute that will damage the diesel in the long term. The have to get warmed up to get the moisture out of the engine.
  20. Decisions my nem is wandering around looking for a home. I think the truncate is a bad home for it.
  21. I may have a second colony of them growing. Once it is a bit bigger. I may break off the chink of rock it is growing on.
  22. Here is a nice updates picture of the truncate? It's getting bigger and taking over a rock.
  23. This stand is beautyful I saw it in the shop today. It will be a nice setup and showcase for those sea horses.
