  1. I wish I can take credit but the true Yuma whisperer title belongs to Rolekii! The rock came from him, I've only managed to keep everybody alive I target feed them pellets or frozen mysis about once a week.

Was that rock from Rolekii's tank?

  2. Hey Vance! Welcome! I am glad to see that you were willing to make an account with PNWMAS. We love DIY projects and are more than happy to help out with any plans or questions you may have. Local fish stores (LFS) are also a good place to start. It would be good to start looking around the LFS and decide what type of corals you may want, because each one is a little different and you might as well if you are designing a setup. Ask the store questions, ask us questions. Someone around here is bound to know the answerl

Can't wait to see this develop.

    See you around,

    Miles

  3. I'll start a new tank build thread this week. Two years is too much to catchup with new tech items in Aquarium industry, new methods, experiences, and eye catching new corals. So I need all the help I can get (knowledge wise) to make this a success. I'm planning to come to PNWMAS meetings and meet awesome people.

In two years, a lot can happen in this hobby.

Hope to see you at a meet.

  4. Hot diggity! Welcome to the forum. You'll like it here. Just some good people who enjoy an aquarium or two..or three...maybe even four. Ok. Some of us have a lot of aquariums. Hehe.

If you ever want to talk about aquariums. I imagine any of us in Corvallis would love to chat.

    Hope to see you around.

  5. I should have posted the ingredients. The coral supplement had magnesium stearate added to it, which is where most of the magnesium probably comes from.

The reason I don't know what to think is, I am unsure whether this is a good thing or bad thing. There are no doubt, tons (literally) of coral skeletons across the ocean that would be a great source of calcium. Although, I don't know if this is the best place to acquire calcium. It is pretty abundant on this earth.

  6. Great whites can swim around 100 miles a day, and stress out really badly if there's anything blocking them from doing so. It has been attempted many, many times. We can successfully keep even a whale shark, but the great white shark just doesn't take well to captivity. They get irritable if they are enclosed, regardless of the size of the enclosure, and they will proceed to attack tankmates, after which they will quickly begin to die. You could call it a really REALLY bad case of claustrophobia.

Funny thing is I'm in the process of planning and setting up a shark tank. I have another post here about sharing shark/ray vitamins, but it seems that I might be the only person who will be keeping sharks in this community.

Even in the open ocean these things can get irritable. Look at this whopper.
