  1. Couldn’t get the Tonga Branch to do what I wanted! Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks! Put your rock to good use haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Rock work is almost done! 3 days, 5 packs of IC-Gel and 2 tubes of Epoxy later. I’m in love. So much open space and hiding places. If you couldn’t tell, I decided not to use the Tonga branch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Just wanted to take a minuet and publicly thank Ron. I’ve know this guys for a couple years and he is definitely a stand up man. Today he drove all the way up to the Vancouver area (about 2 hours) to pick up a couple fish for me. I wasn’t able to meet Brian in time so he volunteered to drive up and get them for me in exchange for corals which I was so down for. Anyways Ron is a great guy and he hoard reef stuff. If you ever need anything reef related don’t hesitate to call him. 10/10 would recommend to a friend lol. Thanks again man I really appreciated it.
  5. Call him Joe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Plumbing is done (for now). Used extra unions so I can add a return manifold later. But for now all the hard plumbing is done and the leak test begins! Fingers crossed! On another note, the DIY T5 fixture almost looks powerful enough alone! Gonna put out some amazing par after I add the LEDs! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Just out of curiosity is anyone from corvallis/Albany/Salem picking up fish tomorrow? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Dang looks like the side you tried to drill was tempered glass! Sweet upgrade though! The TPA crew is awesome! Looking forward to your build [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Some LFS get them periodically Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Salifert Flatworm eXit Aquarium Treatment - 10ml/300 Gallons https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001EJFKN8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_7VoFAb4PZMVG4 Brian is right, when I overdose it I make sure to add an air stone. The velvet nudis only eat flatworms so when they are all gone the velvets will die. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Not sure if it will affect the Sea Apple. Another option is Velvet Nudis if you want to go the natural route. If he doesn’t have it, you can get it on amazon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Interested in Flame angel. Location? Does he nip any corals? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Also recommend 6 line wrasses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. 10/10 recommend flat work exit. I used it probably a year ago when I saw some flatworms and it wiped them out. I dosed way more than needed and let it sit a little longer than you’re told too. But the stuff doesn’t hurt corals. Only the toxins released from the dying worms. So if you go that route I would recommend dipping as many individual piece first to remove as many possible worms. Then dose the whole tank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Yes, we used 1/2” plywood around the stand and then skinned it with 1/4” birch. We did this mostly for cost and because the birch has very few blemishes. Plan to go paint it with some stained. Honestly I’m letting my corned Cody Manzi do the stand while I work on everything else Haha. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I am interested in the large or medium frag. I’ll text you Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Small update. Installing the final trim on the stand and getting ready to paint. I’ve also been working on the plumbing. Trying to think of all the future upgrades so needless to say, I’ve been “plumbing” for 3 days haha. Tomorrow I will glue it all together and snap a pic for you guys! I decided to clean my Tonga branch using the bleach method shown on BRS. I placed all the rocks into a bin and mixed in enough bleach to make roughly a 10% solution. Let the rocks soak for 24 hours and then rinse. Set the rocks out for another 24 hours to dry. Then back into water with 250 ml of Prime to remove the chlorine (enough for 2500 gallons of water). In a couple days I will drain the water and repeat the last step again. Followed by one more bath and then a drying period to ensure all chlorine is gone. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Still interested but not ready for it yet I would like to get my new lights up and running on the new build before I borrow this. Should be ready in about a month so skip me this go around please Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Also interested in a frag of forest fire Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I’ll start. It wasn’t the main focus of the picture but shrimpy is still there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Got around to drilling the tank today! The Reef Synergy is a slick overflow! Can’t wait to put it all together and get water running through it. Also some eye candy from the frag tanks! Lots of goodies waiting for this tank to be ready! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Haha totally understand. Personally, I’m going with AI Hydra 26 HDs and T5. Here is what it looks like so far. Not super pretty but it will work and it’s gonna be hidden in a canopy. And it will Be controlled by my apex Went with the Hydra 26 because the radions wouldn’t fit between my T5s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Giving us a budget would also help. Cuz some lights a crazy expensive and some aren’t so bad. Like Ocean revives are super nice and about $200 a pop. Let’s you control two channels even though it’s full spectrum. One would probably cover your tank. The AI 26 on the other hand is about $350 a pop and you might need two. But it’s controlled over WiFi and has 7 channels of control I think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I run a little of everything: EcoTech, AI, T5, Ocean revives, you name it. My favorites are T5 (growth) and AI. For example on my next build I made a DIY T5/AI Hydra 26HD light fixture. When comparing AI to EcoTech, you should remember that 1) they are owned by the same company, 2) AI is controlled over WiFi right out of the box. Radions need either a reef link or an apex to be controlled wireless(extra cost). Another huge thing for me is Red Sea provides AI products with their tanks and not radions. Most of us refer to Red Sea tanks as the gold standard. Must be a reason the us AI products.... Just my two cents. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
