I have the smaller simplicity 120 on my tank. It runs great. Broke it in with vinegar for a few hours than put it in the sump. It started skimming the next day i have been very happy with it so far.

Thanks for the replies. I shut the light off via apex yesterday and when I got home I found the socket melted as described. I'm glad it didn't catch the house on fire. I used this as my excuse to place an order for a new Evergrow IT5080 led light.

Im using ati bulbs by the way.

I have a 4 bulb retrofit t5 system that was built into my canopy. The system has 2 ballasts. Recently ive had the same bulb burn out than I replaced with another and this bulb is still working but has a burnt looking ring around one end. What would cause this a bad ballast or other issues? I dont know the history of this lighting system as i bought the tank used.

I'm looking to either borrow or buy an apex display screen. I purchased a used unit and need the display to be able to connect to it via my computer, Let me know if you would be willing to let me borrow it.

Judging by the footprint would one of these cover a 36" long by 18" wide tank adequately?

Check out Reef Cleaners Dry Rock. They pre-clean it so it won't leach phosphate like some other brands such as BRS Reefsaver rock.
