  1. First, do this before you get too much water in the tank. Once that 75 is full of water you aren't going to move it. Just keep shoving the stand closer to the wall and sticking your hand back there testing the valves. When you can barely get your hand back there and operate all three valves, you're there.
  2. No Robert, That is a tenius that I got from Tat2d when he tore down his 93. It has colored up real nice since I got it. It used to have a lot more yellow in it. Are you planning to trade the pink and golds for the mohawks or the blue eyed girls?
  3. It's ok Karen, I got a line on one here locally.
  4. Frag deals will be done in dark alleys with lookouts with guns.
  5. That is a nice looking colony. Who's got diving gear? Oh, I didn't just say that out loud.
  6. Nope, no acropora, no montipora, no euphelia, no porites, nothing to see here. Move along before the junkie get nervous.
  7. Yea, I with for the days when everybody had an empty 5 gal sparkletts bottle full of change in their bedroom. Since the advent of homebrew and bottled water companies going to plastic everybody wants an arm and a leg for the glass ones. I just want one for a top off reservoir.
  8. Ok, which is the display and which is the sump/fuge? Oh, I see the display has the sand.....Downdraft sump. Cool idea.
  9. They are common in the hobby but are diminishing in the wild.
  10. The legislation that is proposed is written to include a ban on sales and owning of protected species and makes no differentiation between wild and captive grown specimens.
  11. Stylaster is right. No more posting pics of the illegal stuff. People can now post pics of their marijuana plants but not their coral........kinda makes you go hmmmmmm.
  12. Unfortunately this is just the first step. Before long it will illegal to "possess" these corals. Anybody who has these corals in their tanks now will become instantly guilty of a crime. Plus trading, buying these corals, even from existing captive stock will become a crime.
  13. How much for just the big glass jar?
  14. I've also got this colony of palys up for trade: palys by rworegon, on Flickr Need to make room for more sticks.
  15. Welcome back. The next meeting is this Sunday at the Premium Aquarium store in Salem. Address: 1875 25th St SE Salem OR 97302 Time 1:00pm.
  16. Robert, is this the Acro's you are talking about? _IGP6053 by rworegon, on Flickr If so I would do one of these for a frag of the mille. I would trade the pink and gold palys for pic number 3 in your original post. or a frag of this:
  17. Thank you both. The croucher is doing great. its really fun to watch at feeding time. He gets so excited and wiggles and darts about. Unfortunately there have been two casualties in this tank. The Pom Pom crab went missing some time ago, and recently the Tailspot managed to jump.
  18. Since the great server crash of 2014 made all tank threads of the last two years go away I thought I would start over with the easiest one. Jenn is always looking at the tiny little creatures at the fish store and saying "I want that!" Since putting those tiny little creatures in a 90 gal reef would result in either lunch for other inhabitants or another resident that is never seen, We decided to start a nano. I picked this used Fluval up from another club member. It was a fresh water setup in a previous life. First order of business was to empty the old substrate and give it a good vinegar soak: IMG_2673 by rworegon, on Flickr I didn't much like the stock hood and the tank didn't come with any lighting so a hood/lighting overhaul was in order. First thing to do was cut down the hood to allow an open top for gas exchange. I took the whole thing over to Scuba Steve's house, easy, even in a Miata, and we cut the back off the stock hood. 20140318_173315 by rworegon, on Flickr This allowed me to keep the filter in place but out of sight. 20140318_173244 by rworegon, on Flickr A little trimming and a notch in the hood to accept the rim of the tank and everything sits nice and flat. 20140318_173333 by rworegon, on Flickr Next a piece of scrap black acrylic was cut and added to the back of the hood to complete the new hood. 20140318_181328 by rworegon, on Flickr Next was the remedy the lighting. I picked up a IM Nuvo8 light from Bicycle Bill. Thanks Bill. The mount was then glued to the back of the new hood to allow the light to be suspended above the new open top of the Edge. 20140318_203033 by rworegon, on Flickr The key was to find the sweet spot so that there were no shadow lines on the inside of the tank. 20140318_203238 by rworegon, on Flickr The finished product, dry. 20140318_203010 by rworegon, on Flickr Added some sand and rubble from the refugium of the reef and "Instant mini reef." its wet by rworegon, on Flickr Now for stocking, Yasha Goby with a candy cane pistol shrimp: yasha and pistol by rworegon, on Flickr Pom Pom crab: pom pom crab 03-27-2014 by rworegon, on Flickr Tailspot blenny: _IGP5143 by rworegon, on Flickr A couple of zoa's that were just sitting around on the floor of the reef: _IGP5139 by rworegon, on Flickr _IGP5140 by rworegon, on Flickr There's also a sexy shrimp, a gold banded coral shrimp, a Hector's Goby, a Neon Goby, sorry no pics of these right now, and this little guy: croucher by rworegon, on Flickr. Gumdrop Coral Croucher. This has been a fun little tank and a place for Jenn to put those cute, tiny little creatures that just aren't appropriate for the reef.
  19. OK, as promised, here's some pics, I'm still trying to figure out how to hold the viewer in one hand, the camera in the other and focus and push the shutter with my teeth so bear with me on the pics. This is a tenius that hasn't colored up like the other one yet. it's not in as high a light: _IGP6055 by rworegon, on Flickr This one has colored up real nice: _IGP6049 by rworegon, on Flickr Some gobstoppers: _IGP6050 by rworegon, on Flickr These were pink and gold palys that all came off the same rock in my reef. Some are morphing green: _IGP6052 by rworegon, on Flickr I could let one of these go: _IGP6053 by rworegon, on Flickr Finally a really sweet and bright pocillapora. Really seems to like the ORt247 leds over the frag tank: _IGP6054 by rworegon, on Flickr Let me know what you think and what you have to trade. Thanks
  20. drifting by rworegon, on Flickr Should have had the top down but it was cold that day. Playing in a deserted parking lot near Mt. St. Hellens.
