Ohh, what is this octopus/frogspawn doing? sorry for it being blurry, but my daughter (in previous post pic) decided to kill my camera. It looks like its splitting down the middle or is it just its mouth.

Good news and bad(sad) Good news the CUC and my Blenny took care of the GHA Bad news... I lost one of my clown fish and this is where my other one sits... Just my luck that i would loose the more expensive black clown...

Ok, the battle of GHA vs. CUC... So far, GHA is winning but the CUC is making a comeback, with the addition of more snails... Further update, seems that i have had an explosion of little white dots on my glass walls and in the GHA. Research has led me to believe they are little pods, as they scurry across the glass like little ants... However? This rock with the green/brown polyps was red/purple looking and the snails have completely cleaned it. I dont know if its good or bad? Also, the rock to the right with the snail on it was also colorful and now is completely clean... Can snails eat coralline algae? I will be getting a bicolor blenny today to hopefully help out cuc...

thats what i thought first, but they have actually opened up and look just like regular trumpet/button polyps... just small and totally white...

Argh, wish i could take a day off that i actually want:mad: couldn't even bid for vacation this year:( Its all good though, cashed in 80hrs of vacation(rock2)DANG, Christmas money:( Shoot i can't win:)

your talking about the middle coral? if so, is that ok or not?

Ohh, and the things i thought might be pineapple sponges? i dont know:( they look like white polyps and yes they have grown, so not dead???? also, can anyone identify that middle green/brown coral? it isn"t like the rest of my polyps, me thinks its a mushroom...

Well, its too late:( i tried moving the xenia and it melted away, the xenia got the last laugh though, as it took the green rico that was touching it with it. All well, there is still two green rico mushrooms on that rock and a little polyp, so the ten bucks isnt a complete lose:)

Thank you Kim, This is one PNWMAS member that after getting off of work dealing with societies worst citizens, the very last thing i want to see is people acting like rude inmates. well shoot, i cut off the polyps before i read any responses. The ricordia is also touching the xenia, should i just try and move the xenia to a different rock? How would i go about doing that? my light is a 4x54w finnex with led lights... the xenia is at the bottom of the tank, the ricordia mushrooms are doing great at that lvl, not the xenia though:( I probably need to move the xenia up to middle or top of tank.

I bought a cool purple looking xenia from TPA with some green ricordea mushroom on it. The problem is, it also has some regular brown polyps on it and i think the polyp and the xenia is attacking each other... The xenia looks battered and the polyp is retracting and then extending like a war:( they do touch each other... My 3 yr old daughter decided she was a photographer and broke my camera, so cant show pics. Please help? how should i get rid of polyps and try to save xenia and ricordea?

as im using API test kits anything is possible(scratch) but i bought them because for basic test like ammonia and nitrite they have never failed me... You can see from a pic that Thomas was nice enough to post for me, that i am getting diatoms. Which i believe will only appear when im at the beginning of the end of my cycle (correct me if in wrong). edit: what you see on that pic is also showing up on my sand bed and all over my rock work, including some hair algae:(. Most likely due to the fact that i have some phos and my family likes to keep lights on in the tank even though there isnt anything to see other than some polyps and what i believe is some pineapple sponges and asterina stars. 3yr old daughter dropped my camera "BROKE" so cant send pics, until i get myself a nice HD cam for Christmas:)

Ok, so it has been exactly 2 weeks since i put saltwater in my tank:) Ammonia .25ppm Nitrite 0-.25ppm Nitrate.10ppm Phos. 0-.25ppm My question? is the ammonia high enough for my cycle, i dont want a mini cycle and then when i add poop factories like fish to have another mini cycle.
