I am selling my Hydor Performer 1005 protein skimmer rated for 300 to 400 gallon tanks. I replaced this skimmer because I had a recirculation pump malfunction. Skimmer is fitted with 2 recirc pumps and I had one that had a broken impeller and the other pump motor didnt want to start up. I replaced the broken impeller and cleaned both pumps and they are working fine now. I used this skimmer while I waited for my new one. I also have an extra impeller that is new in the box. When this thing worked it worked great but was a little too temperamental for my liking. I have a milwaukie I would sell cheap. Had some trouble with the shutoff solenoid is why I stopped using it.

I cant get my to work right unless a little water goes into the second pipe. My last tank had a bean animal drain (3 drains) and the emergency pipe on that setup was always dry.

I live just around the corner from you and I have a red monti cap that is taking up space on my frag rack, If you swing by you can have it for free.

Ive never fragged an acan before, thats why I was asking for a definitive answer as to what is a "full polyp". A fraggable polyp leaves it open to interpretation. Im ok with whatever decision is made but not sure if everybody's idea of a polyp you count and a polyp you dont count will be the same across the competition.

Here is my update for October. I count 8 total polyps counting the babies.

reef octopus elite

I have 17" by 15" to work with in the sump. Its about 8" water depth. Wife talked me into ordering a new skimmer so I have a reef octopus elite on the way.

I pulled the trigger on this baby last night, now just need to wait for it to arrive.......this is gonna be a long 5 days.

how hard do you think it would be to make another pump fit this?

So I was cleaning my tank today and the 2 recirc pumps on my hydor skimmer wont start up. disassembled and inspected and one impeller shaft is broken. I put the good impeller in it and it still wont pump any water. I got one of the pumps working. These are hydor seltz l45 pumps. When I got online these pumps are nowhere to be found/discontinued. My question is does anyone know of an alternative to these pumps or where to buy one? If not I need to start shopping for a new skimmer for my 240 gallon- any suggestions?

There is no denying it, the Ducks are a force to be reckoned with this year. I have been a Ducks fan since I was a little kid and its awesome to see them have this kind of success. Maybe now we can stop hearing the stupid comments about how the SEC is the dominant conference.
