  1. +1 to that, this is getting out of hand.
  2. I'm not %100 but I think some people run their calcium reactors in their sumps and they have the john guest fittings (the rodi type) on them. There is a little bit of metal in the inlet but its an extremely small ammount. If it were me I would go for it, but you might wait for someone with a little more experience chime in.
  3. I like the idea of having a meeting at John's
  4. My first thought was the neighboring duncan, like Steve said. a lot of lps can put out long feeding tentacles at night and sting neighboring corals.
  5. If you were closer I would throw some stuff his way. If you come up with a way of getting things up that way just let me know I will toss him some zoas.
  6. I got a good collection of scraps. Pm sent your way.
  7. Way to go Jeramy! Too many people get into this hobby only to bail on it shortly after. How bout some pics of progression over the year?
  8. Nice lookin setup. Real clean. Where did you get the lights?
  9. I have just dumped it in, in the past. I would follow the directions on the bag. If you rinse it, it will kill all the beneficial bacteria in there.
  10. post #15 http://www.pnwmas.org/forums/showthread.php?33691-Getting-out-of-it-sale-everything-goes/page2
  11. When adding live or dry rock to your tank you should always expect a small cycle. And if you buy live rock online there will be some die off in shipping, you should always rinse and scrub it off in salt water to remove some of the bacteria that died off in transit befor putting it in your tank.
  12. check out marco rock or reefbuilders (one of our sponsors) you can usually get a 50 pound box shipped for around $100 Edit: Reefcleaners, not reefbuilders. Sorry bout that. Heres a link http://www.reefcleaners.org/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage_new.tpl&product_id=135&category_id=3&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=58 and heres one for marco rock http://www.marcorocks.com/50poundboxkeylargorockfreeshippinginthecontinentalus.aspx
  13. We're heading back to the shop with a bunch of new critters! Come on down and check out the new selection.
  14. In my experience, the wrasses do help with ich. Unless I was having an acid flashback and hallucinating.
  15. Unfortunately not. Work (not TPA's fault) has ruined another weekend. Sorry for the folks that were waiting with much anticipation.
  16. You could throw a couple of cleaner wrasses in there to help with the ich. As Gill said using copper will ruin your rock and sand, it will absorb into them and leach it back out into the tank after you stop dosing.
  17. You can move them, just make sure they don't get out of the water. Even a quick trip through the air can kill sponges.
  18. Oooh, I hope you got the goat and you will let me borrow it. My lawn needs a trim
  19. Roger, if you take the goat we can work out a deal.
  20. Those go pro camera's are worth every penny. Nice video.
  21. The spectrum on the bulb you posted is only 5000k, a good start but I have found that macro grows best under a 6500k spectrum. When I was using a 5500k bulb I had tremendous amounts of cyanobacteria growing in my fuge, and my chaeto barely did anything. Since switching to the 6500, my chateo has probably quadrupled in size over the last few months. But like cuttlefish said, it could be because that since theres more water volume the nutrients aren't as potent in the water thus making it harder for your greenery to pull them out.
