  1. Hey - and how did you make that frag rack? is it glued to a mag float? Making a frag rack is on my Saturday 'to do list' and I'm 26 minutes into Saturday!
  2. My old man is outside of Port Townsend, I'll have to give you a look up next time I head up there. Nice tank! Question - I have a lot of coraline in my tank - sort of like it. Your tank is PRISTINE - I'm assuming that a choice you've made - but how do you keep it like that? I have a hell of a time getting the corners of the tank clean.
  3. Im in Eugene, hoping to move to Olympia in a year or three to be closer to family. Four months into the saltwater hobby - glad and glad about having my hands in the water.
  4. Shane - I'm a noob. Tank's been up for four months. Joined this forum about two months ago. 7 of my 14 corals are from forum members. My light is from a forum member. The advice, insight and general how to is all from forum members. Digging it - appreciating it, and checking my water 3 times a week. VC
  5. Looking good. Thinking of peeling the blue backing off my tank, and giving it a coat of black. What paint did you use? I've got some black latex semi gloss sitting around that I'm thinking will work.

  7. [language filter] I wish it was real, my kids would love it! http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/genpets.asp
  8. The Nautilus in Springfield just hatched a shark. The eggs been hanging for a couple of weeks. Cool looking black and white thing - don't know what kind.
  9. Beautiful stuff. Inspiration to a noob.
  10. Picked up a 48" fixture today (Nova Extreme Pro), the thing is the dimensions are the same as my tank - makes getting into the water for little things like feeding a little difficult. Wanting to make a setup to hang the light, and I'm hoping to make it adjustable - like blinds - pull rope lights raise up, lower rope lights come down. (daz) Anybody have ideas for me?
  11. (waving) In the last three weeks my little forty gallon tank has been helped out by ideas, suggestions, advice and good old fashioned human coolness. I trekked from Eugene to Portland today. Had to pick up loaner stuff from my Bro in Law who got married last week. Took the chance to meet a couple people from the forum who helped me out with wants and needs! My 40 gallon is 4 months old and looks anything but empty - Zoas and stuff from Algae, Cloves, Zoas and a Monti cap from Grassi, Sweet Lights from Undrtakr_00 and a lead on the lights from NoobtoSalt. Here's what I've learned - the people on this forum like to share ideas, time, advice. I appreciate that! So, let take a minute to share the love (oh - wait - that phrase is taken!) - How about a story about how somebody here helped you out? VC
  12. Wait another week or two, put some red cellophane over a flashlight, then shine it on your tank in the middle of the night. Crazy stuff living in there I tell ya!
  13. Looking at this makes me think "I'm such a beginner" - is it inspiration or obsession setting it? I'll let you know in a month or four.
  14. Sweet. So as a newly paid member do I just show up or what? There's no hazing involved is there? When I was 19 I carried a log for like 4 miles - I'm so done with that hazing crap.
  15. I was wondering the same thing - just lost some PM's - (not to worry I had the info written down).
  16. bump for visibility. Heading to check out thereeftank.com
  17. Sweet. My wife just got hired after a 15 month layoff. It's a relief in a lot of ways!
